~ Betty Grable ~

"The Girl with the Million Dollar Legs "
On a cold December 18th day in 1916 Betty Grable made her debut on this earth in St. Louis, Missouri. Studying tap and ballet from an early age, she found herself in Hollywood at the mere age of 13. Betty had a role as a bit player in Nancy Carroll's " Child of Manhattan ". Who knew then that within a decade, this blond sweetie would become the musical queen of Nancy's old studio, Fox, or that Nancy's film career would be over. But, that's the way it was.

Betty starred in such vehicles as " Down Argentine Way ", " Moon Over Miami ", " Tin Pan Alley " and " How To Marry a Millionaire ". Betty continued to star in musicals well into the 1950s, and after that, as did many of her contemporaries, she performed on the stage and in nightclub acts. Betty was only 56 years old when she died of cancer on July 5, 1973.
