With great sadness I announce the death of Patricia Kirkland Bevan, the beloved daughter and only child of Nancy Carroll. Patricia Kirkland Bevan, a former actress, died on August 14, 2000 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Donald, children, and grandchildren. My deepest sympathy to the Bevan, Kirkland and Lahiff families.

Film historian/writer Dan Van Neste learned of Mrs. Bevan's passing and wrote me with the sad news. As you may already know, less than two months before Mrs. Bevan passed away, and despite her illness, she graciously shared precious information about her mother with Dan for his article about Nancy, which has since been published in FILMS OF THE GOLDEN AGE magazine.

When Nancy Carroll died, the press dispatches said of her, " She was a trouper, right to the end. " I believe these same words also accurately describe Patricia Bevan. Rest in sweet gentle peace, Patricia Kirkland Bevan.
