The Man in Gray
Have you ever met the man in gray?
I met him once on a cloudless day.
While I was walking among the trees,
I saw a man there upon his knees.
I cantered up to look into his face,
And in his eyes I could see a familiar place.
It was a place I'd always known,
As if someplace where I'd grown.
It had that familiar feeling of home,
Where weary travelers roam,
The field you always played in,
Where all your dreams begin.
Just a glance was all I saw,
But his mystic wonder held me in awe.
I am forever grateful to this day,
And in my heart he'll always stay.
