Personal
- Agent Alex Krycek was assigned to Agent Mulder when the X-Files was
closed by Assistant Director Walter Skinner.
But it seemed that he reported to the Cigarette-Smoking
Man.
- The clean-cut Alex Krycek is first seen in "Sleepless" in
which he looks like a younger version of Mulder; eager to learn from him
and willing to believe.
- However, he is revealed as a double-agent, attempting to thwart the
numerous attempts by Mulder to reopen the X-Files.
- He materially contributed to the abduction of Dana Scully and attempted
to take Mulder's life when he tried to rescue her.
- Following this, he disappeared; only to reappear in "Anasazi"
where he murdered William Mulder, Fox's father.
- At this point, he is portrayed as his true self; a ruthless assassin-style
agent who is professional in the work he does. He escapes a bundled double-cross
by Cancer Man and leaves the country. Not to mention that it is believed
that HE has the tape which contained the MJ files. Where will he resurfaced
next???
Interesting information on Nicholas Lea, the man behind
Alex Krycek
- Nicholas Lea says his affiliation with The X-Files as Agent
Alex Krycek has already paid dividends for him, despite the fact that he
has appeared in a limited amount of shows. "That instantly breaks
the ice," he says, "especially for an a ctor who is from Vancouver
and doesn't know anybody down here."
- Lea didn't take up acting full time until he reached the age of 25,
after going to art school and singing in a band
- After landing parts in Vancouver-based television shows and some low-budget
features, Lea earned his first real exposure with a recurring role in The
Commish.
- It was here that he met his girlfriend, Melinda McGraw, who plays Melissa
Scully, Dana's sister, in The X-Files.
- Born June 22, the producers casted only Lea as the part which he thought
would only be a 3 episode stint.
- Krycek's traitourous doings earned him the nickname "Ratboy"
on the Internet, as well as a small cadre of admirers who call themselves,
"The Ratnicks." Lea is honoured to have received this much attention,
especially since he's the bad guy!
- Contradictory to his "Anasazi" fight with Duchovny, they're
actually very good friends. "It was really nasty," Lea says.
"That's what we were after - not your regular TV fight."
- The Canadian-born actor is kind of reluctant to move to Los Angeles
despite his exposure from the show. " I was waiting until I really
had something to offer." He adds that he'll remain ready to put on
the character of Krycek - at a moment's notice.
- On Chris Carter and the X-Crew: "They're the best group of producers
I've ever worked with, and they've given me a huge oppotunity here. It's
easy to go through this business and get jobs and go, 'Yeah, see you later,'
but these guys here have really opened up something for me, and that's
priceless." Awww...that's sweet of you, Nicholas
