Elton Dean

Elton Dean

Elton Dean was the saxophonist of Bluesologie, the group that Reginald Dwight was also a part of in the mid-sixties. When Reg decided to change his name, he took part of Elton Dean's name and part of Long John Baldry's name to become Elton John. The rest, as they say, is history.

Elton Dean went on in the music business, recording albums with many musicians over the years. He mainly produces jazz music, and was a member of Soft Machine. He's released his first album on his own recently.
