      In the photo on the left, which of the eight people dipicted is the actual subject? The fellow under the second white cap from the right is famous golf professional Freddy Couples but you could certainly never discern so from this nondescript clump of humanity. None of the standard elements of composition have been employed to draw your eye to him or make him stand out in any way--just another face in the crowd.

     In the photo on the right the primary (key) light source has been lowered to head level to avoid any shadowing of the eye or under the brow. Dark eyes in a tight close-up like this would cause the subject to appear a haggard drug addict--or possibly a corpse.
