Introduction

This is a story about a team of teenage mutants. Each one has a special power or ability. This team is part of a group of teams guided by one man, Charles Xavier. He has provided the campuses for the training of these teams.

This team lives near the town of Salem Center, a suburb of Boston. They are trained and taught by two adults, Emma Frost (White Queen), a psi millionaire in charge of Frost Enterprises, and Sean Cassidy (Banshee), an ex-X-Men who has a deafening scream. Together they are to raise these kids and to teach them how to use their powers for the good of all human-kind.

The students are of all sorts of ages and backgrounds.

Paige Gutherie, a young girl from Kentucky who can shed her skin to reveal a shell of any substance underneath. She goes by the name of Husk.

Jonothon Starsmore, a eighteen year old man from Australia. He is made up of raw psionic power, which he first used to accidentally blow off his mouth, neck, and chest. He goes by the name of Chamber.

Angelo Espinosa, a teenage hoodlum from East LA. He has six extra feet of skin that he uses to his advantage. He goes by the name of Skin.

Jubilation Lee, the mutant mallrat who was recently an X-Man. She has the power to shoot pyrotechnic emissions (fireworks)out of her fingers. She goes by the name of Jubilee.

Monet St. Croix, a rich kid with an attitude problem. She has many powers, and is considered the most advanced student at the school. She goes by the name of M.

Everett Thomas, a pretty normal kid from St. Louis. He has the ability to become in synch with the powers of other mutants in the range of his rainbow aura. He goes by the name of Synch.

Then there are the younger members who vacant the treehouse in the Danger Grotto. Artie, a little pink skinned kid who can project images of anything right out of his mind. Leech, a little green skinned kid who can dampen any other mutants powers who is in his range. Then there is Franklin Richards, who has recently lost both parents and two uncles (The Fantastic Four). His power is the ability to change reality.

These people have vowed to protect a world that hates and fears them. They have a lot of things to face in their life.

-Enter Generation X ....

Chapter One

The News

It was a cold Saturday morning in Snow Valley, even for late September. A slight breeze blows from the North. The trees swing in the current. Under the swaying trees is a group of people trying to make it to the warm mansion before they freeze to death. A middle-aged man walks with one child around his neck, and the other grasping the hand of a teenage girl.

“Sean, has it ever been this cold?”, Jubilee asks as she shivers her way down the path.

“That is ‘Mr. Cassidy’ to you,” answers Sean, “it is a bit chilly out this morning.”

“Chilly, are you crazy, it’s probably warmer in the frig.”

All of a sudden an image of Iceman appears right in front of the group.

“Yes Artie, it is cold,” Jubilee replies to the small pink colored boy on Sean’s shoulders, “that’s why we are going back inside.”

“Leech cold too, like Artie,” says the other, green colored, boy.

“Whose idea was it to go on this walk anyway, they must have been out of their mind,” rages Jubilee.

“It was yours, ‘Jubee’,” replies Sean.

Jubilee blushes for a minute right as they reached the door. As they walk into the nearest room with a fire they're greeted by Emma and Paige.

“Here are the human icicles now, Paige,” Emma remarks sarcastically.

“It wasn’t that bad out there, nothing for us rough types. Right Mr. C,” Jubilee blurts out in defense.

Banshee rolls his eyes, and takes a seat in his chair. Emma senses that Jubilee was lying and rolls her eyes as well. Paige returns her nose into her biology book as if nothing happened.

“Where are the rest of the kids,” Sean asks Emma.

“Everett is still a sleep,...,” Emma replies as Jubilee runs up the stairs.

“Ev, wake up, rise and shine,” Jubilee yells at the top of her lungs.

“...Angelo and Jono are in the other room watching cartoons,...,” Emma continues unsuccessfully.

“Couch potatoes,” Paige mumbles from the fact-filled pages of her book, as Emma starts to get mad.

“...Monet and Franklin are in the kitchen eating their breakfast,” finishes Emma.

“Leech like breakfast,” Leech yells as Artie makes a picture of cereal, milk, orange juice, and toast. Then they both disappear into the hall leading to the kitchen.

As the two adults sit and talk with the bookworm reading in the back, it seems everything is at peace, for the moment.

Emma feels something. It is a faint signal coming from down stairs. “Sean, I am reading something,” Emma’s psionic aura flares up for her to zoom in on the signal. She sees a picture of Scott and Jean Summers. “It is a communication, it is from the X-Men.”

“Lets see what it is about,” remarks Sean.

“Can I go with you?” Paige asks as Sean and Emma are surprised that she was still in the room.

“Yes,” they both say synchronously.

The three march down to the communication room, located below the mansion. When they get there the view screen is on with the same picture that Emma saw. Sean takes a seat in the right chair, as Paige takes the left one leaving Emma standing.

“Answer them,” Emma orders the other two.

Paige and Sean start pushing buttons and flipping switches. “There you go,” Sean replies.

“Emma, how have you been?,” Scott asks politely.

“Very fine, thank you. What can I help you with Scott?” Emma asks back.

“Well, we have a list here of possible new students,” answers Jean.

“New students. How many?” Sean asks with curiosity.

“Well, There are seven,” answers Scott.

“Eight, we can’t take that many more,” Emma aggressively replies.

“They are only possible students, nothing is finally. We want you two, and, if you want, your current students to go and find these kids and evaluate them. Check to see if they are right for the team,” advises Jean.

“We are sending the names and last known locations. If you need any further help in the matter just ask. We will be in touch. X-Men out,” says Scott, as they disappear from the screen.

“That was a little weird,” remarks Paige.

Still stunned by the news, the three of them exit the Communication room. Paige, so excited to spread the news, she runs up the stairs, and shouts to the others.

“Everyone, come quick we have some news. Come quick,” she yells throughout the house, “Jubilee come down here quick.”

The room is soon filled with the remainder of the team, except Everett.

“Jubilee, where is Everett?”, asks Emma.

“Still asleep, I couldn’t wake him,” answers Jubilee.

~ Everett wake up and get down here, NOW, ~ Emma psionicly tells him.

“Hey, that’s my job,” Jubilee shouts in protest.

Slowly, but surely, Everett Thomas comes stumbling down the stairs.

“Talk about rude awakenings,” Ev mumbles as he is still trying to wake up.

“What is this all about, amigo, me and Jono here were watching Bugs Bunny,” replies Angelo.

~ You were, I wanted to watch Taz, ~ interrupts Jono.

“Quiet, all of you. We have important news,” Sean shouts over them.

“Well, what is it all ready?” asks Jubilee.

“We are getting new students, -eh, I mean new classmates” answers Paige.

All that can be seen on the faces of everyone is surprise and shock. They were not as happy as Paige was.

“You hear me, we are getting new classmates,” repeats Paige.

“Yah, we heard you. Frankly, I think we have to many students here as it is,” Monet negatively replies as she looks at Angelo.

“Are there any cute boys coming?” asks Jubilee.

“Everyone, just calm down. It hasn’t been decided if they are coming here, but it is a strict possibility,” Emma says with great volume.

“We are all going to go meet each and every one of them,” adds Sean.

“When do we pack?,” asks Jubilee.

“What’s your hurry, Lee?” whispers Everett.

“Shut up, Ev,” answers she.

“We will leave at noon. Are first stop is Boston,” answers Sean.

“Why don’t they just come here?” asks M.

“We have a lot more places to go then just Boston, M,” replies Sean.

“Ew, more cute boys,” smirks Jubilee.

“Calm down already, Jubes,” Everett whispers again.

They all spread out over the house getting packed. Artie, Leech and Franklin, who are invited to go as well, return to their treehouse and grab some things. Mostly toys. All of the students now done packing, load up in the car, and head towards the airport.

Chapter Two

Boston

The whole team is on a private jet on their way to Boston, even though they could have just driven there. The jet is provided by Frost Enterprises, of course. Sean Cassidy and Emma Frost are in the front of the plane drawing out their route to get the eight new students. Monet St. Croix sits in the row behind them drawing in her coloring book/ journal. The row behind her contains Paige Gurthrie, her nose in some kind of text book; Jonothon Starsmore, covered up by his wrappings; and Angelo Espinosa, his extra skin just lying around. The last occupied row has Jubilation Lee, excited beyond thought; Everett Thomas, who is trying to calm down his neighbor; and then there is the trio, consisting of Artie, Leech, and Franklin Richards. The three watch Jubilee with wide open eyes.

“Are we there yet?” ,asks Jubilee.

“A wee bit longer, Jubee,” answers Sean.

~ Couldn’t we have left her at home, Sean, ~ ponders Emma.

~ No, Emma, we are going as a team, ~ replies Sean.

** We are approaching Boston International, Ms. Frost, ** blurts the pilot over the com. speaker.

“Ew, I can’t wait,” says Jubilee as she jumps out of her seat.

The plane has a perfect landing. Everyone debarks and heads for the car. A snug fit, but it will do. Emma tells the driver where to go, and they’re off.

“Well, If we are going to meet this person shouldn’t we know something about him?” Monet rudely remarks.

“Okay, his name is Reg Denver, he is sixteen, and has plasma based powers. From what I hear he is quite nice, specially to the ladies, and his goes by the name Plasma,” answers Emma.

“He sounds hot. What does he look like?" asks Jubilee.

“You’ll just see when we get there,” answers Sean.

“Will he be coming to live with us, Mr. Banshee, sir,” whispers Franklin. Artie reacts with an image of the tree house.

“We will just have to see, and Artie I don’t think he will live in the tree house,” replies Sean.

“In order to test his powers, I will ask all of you to attack him,” orders Emma.

“What? Are you crazy?,” they all say.

“He won’t try to harm you, and any way I will have psionic shields around you all. It will protect you and tell me how strong his powers are,” Emma elaborates.

“Well, you should be more worried about him,” says M.

They pull up to a two-storied suburb home with lots of trees and plants. Obviously this is the place. The group stays in the car as Sean and Emma proceed to the front door. They knock, but there is no answer. They knock again, same.

“I don’t know why they aren’t here. I informed them that we were on our way,” Emma ponders to Sean.

“Scan the house and this whole neighborhood,” suggests Sean.

Emma uses her mighty psionic powers to scan the area. The house is empty, and the neighborhood is calm. She senses something, someone approaching. She knows who it is.

“Get the children out here,” requests Emma.

“Kids, come here and get ready for anything,” Sean shouts to the open car window.

With all the kids, with the exception of the Trio, out of the car and most of them ready for the worst, they wait for the battle to begin. Emma stands off to the side to concentrate on the others shields. Suddenly there is a blast to their right, another from their left. The eyes of the young mutants look all around to see their assailant, he is nowhere to be seen. Ev looks up to the roof, and sees a head popping over the top.

“I got him, he’s up there,” announces Everett.

A rainbow aura surrounds the young Thomas boy as he uses his teachers screaming flight to lift himself up to the rooftop. This action is followed by the shooter sliding down from the roof, landing on the ground in front of the team.

“My names Reg. You must be Generation X,” young Mr. Denver introduces himself.

“Lets get this over with,” M demands as she soars to the air so she can make a dive bomb on Reg.

Reg defends himself with one strong plasma bolt to Monet’s chest. With him distracted, he is wrapped time and time again with the extra skin of Mr. Espinosia. Jono and Paige take this opportunity to make their move. Jono’s psionic energy shears though his wraps and charges to Reg. Paige husks her old skin and reveals a steel coated layer underneath. Reg manages to break free of Angelo’s grip and dodge Jono’s psionic flare.

“Now it’s my turn,” declares Reg.

He jumps into action. Reg hops, jumps, and avoids the next volley. Jono makes contact, which engulfs Reg. Suddenly the psionic cloud is repelled back to Jono. All that stands is the young man wrapped in a plasma shield. He takes the offense, and fires a bolt at Jono and Angelo, which knocks them a few feet, and to the ground. “Who’s next?,” asks Reg.

“That would be me, prettyboy,” answers Jubilee.

Jubilee fires up and shoots her sparks. They reflect off and she fires more. Blast after blast is bombarded into the young mutant. Soon, Reg’s shield gets weak and eventually breaks down and collapses. Jubilee uses her sparks, as they spin and swirl in the evening sky. The fireworks shoot out of her fingertips, as they speed their way to her target. Direct hit. The rest of the team take advantage of this and fall in on an attack. Banshee, Everett, and M come from the sky, while the rest surround him ready to strike.

~ That’s enough, this game is though, ~ Emma yells at everyone’s mind.

“Just when it was getting fun too,” M says with disappointment.

The group walk towards Emma as they disarm their powers. Then they are joined by Artie, Leech, and Franklin. After a few moments to let them catch their breath, Emma starts to evaluate.

“All of you did good,” Emma starts her speech, then she looks over at Reg, who looks disappointed. “So did you Reginald. You have nothing to be disappointed about.”

“Well, I lost. That’s something. I mean I loss to the firefly over there. If you hadn’t stopped them, I would be dead right now,” answers Reg.

“Hey, who you calling firefly?” Jubilee defends.

“You didn’t lose. This was only a test to measure your powers,” comforts Emma.

“Well, my powers are nothing against all of yours,” Reg says.

“Of course,” replies M.

“That is what you are coming to Xaviers for, to learn to control and enhance your powers,” answers Sean.

“It’s also a place to meet new people. By the way, my name is Jubilee.”

“We still have a couple more stops on our trip, so you will know soon if you are going to attend our school, or not,” adds Emma.

“I sure hope I can go,” replies Reg.

“So do I. Did I mention my name is Jubilee?” shouts Jubilee.

“Jeez Lee, calm down,” says Everett.

“Would you all like to stay for dinner, my parents wouldn’t mind and they’ll be back in a while,” asks Reg.

“We don't want to intrude,” says Sean.

“Oh, you wouldn’t be, they would be honored if you would stay,” says Reg.

“Come on Mr. C, please can we?” squabbles Jubilee.

“I don’t see anything wrong with staying for dinner,” replies Emma.

“Okay then, it is settled. Why don’t you all come inside, and we can get to know each other?,” asks Reg.

“Okay, I don’t see why not,” replies Sean.

As they all retreat into the house to talk and get ready for dinner, the sun sets in the distance.

After the return of Mr. and Mrs. Denver and the home-cooked meal, the team call for the car and head towards their hotel. Planning for their next stage on their trip, they get a good night sleep. They have to get up ‘n’ early, and head to New York City.
