He's a large Great Dane. Scooby must be coaxed into scary situations with the promise of a Scooby Snack. Once in trouble, Scooby can usually get out of the situation by using his acting abilities. He often tries to fake his way out of scary assignments, but usually ends up dressed in some funny costume to help the gang solve the mystery. He gets his energy for all of these antics and chase scenes by eating lots of food with Shaggy.
