ABOUT THE SHOW:

"Central Park West" was an evening soap opera following young, ambitious
New Yorkers in the publishing, art, and acting businesses.

"Central Park West" was produced by CBS, Inc.  The executive producer is
Darren Star, formerly of "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Place."


ABOUT THIS GUIDE:

Original run dates and production numbers come from the online Library of
Congress Information Service (telnet://locis.loc.gov).  Air dates were
then compared to television listings and modified accordingly.  I do not
assume that the LOCIS information is completely correct (I have found
errors), so you shouldn't either.  I will correct errors as I find them
or as they are pointed out to me.

D: Allan Arkush

At the request of Allen Rush, the "Darth Vader of publishing," Stephanie
Wells arrives from Seattle with husband Mark to revamp the magazine
"Communique," where Carrie, Allen's stepdaughter, has a column; Carrie's
job is in jeopardy.


1433-0102.  20 September 1995
D: Allan Arkush

Carrie loses her column at "Communique, thanks to Stephanie.  She takes
an interest in Mark and his play.  Alex tells everything to Peter as her
expose hits the stands.  Linda suspects Allen of cheating but confronts
the wrong woman.  Deanne shows Gil he's not not the only one who is
capable of dirty tricks.

D: James Frawley

Rachel, an old school pal of Carrie, is given the fashion editor
position at "Communique" and dishes dirt about Carrie to Stephanie.
Gil kicks Deanne out of his apartment, but not before she rifles
through his files.  Allen sets his sights on Nikki at her gallery's
party.  Peter gives Alex a phony excuse, settling the score.

D: Tim Hunter

Mark's play gets a staged reading in the Hamptons and goes perfectly,
leading Carrie to believe she will become its producer; she is also
thrilled that Stephanie did not attend her husband's play's reading.
Rachel cancels her date to attend the reading with Gil and instead
goes with Peter to a gala, preventing Peter from reconciling with
Alex.


1433-0105.  11 October 1995
D: Allan Arkush

There's a leak at "Communique," and Stephanie suspects it is Carrie;
meanwhile, Rachel tries to convince Allen the leak is Stephanie.
Nikki turns down Allen, who, in a rage, strong-arms her customers
at the gallery.  Carrie blows her stack when Mark chooses someone
else to produce the play.  Peter and Alex leave Rachel's party
together, leaving Rachel free to be pursued by Gil.


1433-0106.  18 October 1995
D: Lorraine Senna

The leak at "Communique" is discovered to be Carrie, and Rachel
and Stephanie are both happy, though for different reasons.  Allen
decides to leave Linda.  Linda asks Nikki to perform a shady art
deal involving a Renoir.  Ian tells Stephanie to keep Mark at bay.
Rachel asks Peter to help her obtain a visa.

D: Victoria Hochberg

Gil tells Mark about Stephanie's private bank account.  Alex
figures out Rachel's scheme, angering Peter but delighting Carrie,
who confronts her old school chum with an ultimatum.

Note:  This episode was originally scheduled to air 25 October 1995
but was pre-empted by the "Cagney & Lacey" movie.

D: Allan Arkush

The buyer of the Renoir contacts Linda and threatens Nikki.  A
different "Communique" staffer admits to being the link, requiring
Stephanie to rehire Carrie.  Rachel scuttles the surprise birthday
party Carrie planned for Peter by keeping him away, but Alex gives
him a gift that makes up for it.  Mark feels guilty and forgives
Stephanie.


1433-0109.  15 November 1995
D: Victoria Hochberg

Gil dishes dirt on Rachel to Peter.  Rachel catches Mark and Carrie
together in a compromising situation.  Nikki and Peter spend the
night together because of their mutual dislike of Allen.  Peter and
Allen confront each other.  Allen tells Alex a juicy story about
Peter.  A furious Rachel lashes out at Gil.  Stephanie assigns Mark
a story for "Communique."

NOTE:  The series went on a six-month retooling hiatus at this point.
       The emphasis will now shift to the older characters and family

Another publishing tycoon, Adam Brock, arrives.  Adam and Allen clash
over ownership of "Communique."  Rush Media wins "Communique."

D: Don Scardino (segments)

Allen catches his wife and Adam in a compromising position on film.
Carrie tries to get Jordan to tell her who the missing member of the
Brock clan is.  Peter connects with Robin on the eve of his wedding
to Alex.  Peter and Alex's wedding becomes a media circus.  Carrie
gets a new roomate.  Jordan and Adam fight over his treatment of her.

D: Don Scardino

Adam's ex-wife, Dianna, arrives, causing him and "Communique" strife.
The reception Dianna gets from her daughter is very chilly.  Gil finds
that Jordan is a kindred spirit, forcing Rachel to admit her feelings
for him.  The Rushes and Brocks clash at a party celebrating Peter and
Alex's wedding.  Peter's misbehavior leads to possible tragedy.


1433-0117.  14 June 1996
D: Gwen Arner

Mark returns to pitch a book to Jordan and grind an ax with Carrie;
Carrie warns Jordan about Mark and Adam about Linda.  Dianna gains
control over Adam and Allen.  Gil makes a career move.  Alex's lies
are exposed.  Dianna is elected to the board of directors of her
ex-husband's company, Rush Media.


1433-0118.  19 June 1996
D: Tim Van Patten

Linda sells her soul to get bail money for Peter.  Carrie realizes that
the victim in Mark's new thriller is based on her.  Dianna decides to
stay close to Adam.  Allen has to destroy the Fairchilds to keep Peter
out of jail.  Dianna proves a good asset in the boardroom.  Mark
dishes biased dirt on Carrie to Jordan.  Carrie is the target of Mark's
rage.

D: Victor Lobl

Tyler comes to New York at Dianna's behest for a reunion with Adam.
Mark cruelly taunts Carrie to the point of breakdown.  Linda's shares
in Rush Media interest many.  Allen and Dianna scheme to kill Adam's
software deal.  Tyler's jealous is an asset to Rachel.  Jordan decides
to disregard Carrie's suspicions about Mark.  The Fairchild-Rush
divorce commences.

D: Nancy Malone

Linda gets a letter from Peter and loses everything in the process.
Tyler gets info for Dianna and Allen about Adam's software deal. Allen
intends to gain control of Rush Media.  Mark continues to taunt Carrie
after she's committed.  Rachel and Tyler, Dianna and Allen, and Jordan
and Mark each hold liaisons.

D: Don Scardino

Jordan tries to stop Mark's plan to literally destroy Carrie.  Dianna
and Linda fight over their men.  Gil's future goes south.  Tyler votes
at the Rush Media stockholders' meeting, benefitting Dianna; Linda
and Brock feel the heat after they lose control of the media empire.
