ABOUT THE SHOW:

"Maggie Winters" was a sitcom that plays like a TV version of the movie 
"Hope Floats":  a popular girl marries her high school sweetheart and 
moves to the big city.  After he cheats on her and not having fulfilled 
her dreams, sh moves back to her hometown to strike up old acquaintances 
and even deal with a few people who do not like her.  The main difference 
is that Maggie has no children.

"Maggie Winters" is a production of Greenblatt-Janollari Studio, CBS 
Productions, and Fox Television Studios.  It was created by Kari Lizer, 
and the executive producers are Robert Greenblatt, David Janollari, and 
Kari Lizer.  The score is by W.G. Snuffy Walden.

Maggie Winters catches her husband cheating (with their dental 
hygenist) and leaves him.  She returns to her hometown to live with 
her mother for a maximum of six months until she gets back on her 
feet.  She learns that Rachel -- a woman whom she does not remember from 
high school but who hated her for "stealing" Bobby, the boy she wanted 
to go out with -- may be in charge of getting her a job.  She also 
decides her high school friends have not moved on with their lives, 
which they learn she feels and get upset with her about.  She also 
runs into Bobby, and they consider a romance.

A glance at her high-school diary wrongly convinces Maggie that she 
can pick up her life right where she left off.  However, employment 
agent Mr. Stickley does not find her a job she feels she is qualified 
for.  She terminates her romance Bobby, realizing that would be too 
much like her marriage and that she wants to be independent.  She 
interviews with Rachel and gets a job selling clothes rather than 
designing them.

Maggie, hoping to spend Saturday night with her mother, learns Estelle has 
made other plans.  She catches Estelle and her date, Lester, in the shower 
together.  While Maggie thinks Estelle has had no life with her gone, she 
learns that Estelle has actually cut back her socializing since Maggie has 
been back and wants to resume.  Meanwhile, Lisa is on her third date with 
Ronald, a man she really likes, and gets Robin and Jeff (and later Maggie) 
to stop her from sleeping with him, since she thinks that it will jeopardize 
the relationship.  (Yes, Robin does break down at the end of the episode.)
