1. THE EMERALD HEART 7/27/90
This episode introduces the main characters. Tressa returns to
her mother's home with her young son, Jim. Jim has had
problems in the North and she hopes living in the small
Southern town of Houma will help him. Meanwhile, she has a
problem of her own when her mother tells her how she was given
an emerald pendant and then lost it. Jim explores the swamp
and meets Swamp Thing, with whom he bonds and then, later,
meets Oboe, another new friend. Dr. Arcane and his experiments
are shown. Is he evil, mad or just misdirected?

Dr. Arcane transforms his accomplice into the 'living image' of

3. THE DEATH OF DR. ARCANE 9/14/90
Jim is kidnapped by thugs working for Arcane. Arcane carries

must be 'revitalized' if Swamp Thing is to save Jim.

4. LEGEND OF THE SWAMP MAIDEN 9/21/90
Jim and Oboe are determined to see the Swamp Maiden who appears

both have been warned not to touch her. A third man makes a
deal with Jim for the pictures. All get more involved than
intended.

5. SPIRIT OF THE SWAMP 9/28/90
Arcane is determined to capture Swamp Thing and when his hoods
fail, he summons a black voodoo priest, Duchamp. Duchamp won't
disclose his secrets and refuses money, but wants only Arcane's
prized black rose. He starts his spells.

Arcane is displeased and abuses his protege over the failure of
his new formula. His protege, at a loss for a disposal site,
takes the jar into the swamp, where Swamp Thing stops him.
Swamp Thing is interrupted after opening the jar and leaves it
where Tressa finds it. She inhales the formula. Later,
everyone who gets near her develops a murderous rage.

Tressa has asked Arcane to clean the swamp and two men sent to
do that find a weak, poisoned Swamp Thing. Not knowing
anything about him, they sell him to the carnival side show.
Jim gets a job tending the 'anomolies' and one tells him that
Swamp Thing must be returned to the swamp or he will die. In
the ensuing events, Arcane must face his 'glorious failures'.

serious condition and the doctors are baffled. The fly follows
and Tressa becomes another victim.

Swamp Thing finds a baby floating in a crate from the ship.
The baby seems ill, so he gives her to Will for care. The girl
notices that the baby has the same tatto. Dr. Hollister is
baffled and it seems only a miracle will save the baby.

with a barcode tattoo. Meanwhile, Will prepares a special
party for Abigail's Unbirthday, which is interrupted when
Abigail spots someone she calls a 'watcher'.

While testing a new earthquake-producing device Arcane has
developed for General Sunderland, it runs too long and the
shockwave opens a fissure under Swamp Thing, dropping him into
a deep cave where he finds a lab and the device. Cut off from
the sun, Swamp Thing is weakened and nearly helpless.
Meanwhile, Arcane is in his lab watching, with lecherous eyes,
an assistant, Sienna, who is working on a console.

which he withholds. She sets a fine table in the swamp and
invites Swamp Thing to lunch. Swamp Thing declines and goes to
destroy the research, leaving Carla and Arcane to fight it out.

past and the senator failed to pass restrictions. Back in the
present, the senator will introduce new laws on disposal.

a green heart and says S.T. has nothing to fear but his own fears

persuades Arcane to turn in the real murderer and free Will.
