Born November 1, 1941, in Houston, Texas, Robert Foxworth portrayed Chase Gioberti, Angela Channing's nephew, for six years. Chase came from New York to claim a small amount of Falcon Crest acreage after the death of Jason Gioberti, and found himself up against Anglea who believed it was rightfully hers. The quarrel between the two continued for years until Chase was missing, presumed dead, after attempting to search for Melissa and Kevin who had inadvertantly driven into the bay. A background in theatre, in productions including 'The Crucible' and 'Cleopatra' reflect Foxworth's training at the Stratford University Contempory Workshop. Following success in theatre, he then movied on to motion pictures where he starred in 'Airport '77', 'Damien: Omen II', 'Treasure of Matecumbe', and 'The Black Marble'. Roles in tv-movies were also prominent, with Foxworth starring in 'The Devil's Daughter', 'It Happened At Lakewood Manor', 'Death Moon', 'Act of Love' and 'Peter and Paul'. Foxworth enjoyed the most success in his role as Chase Gioberti on 'Falcon Crest' which he joined in 1981. Foxworth left in 1987, reportedly tired of playing the same storyline over and over. "I complained to the producers that I did the same thing with Jane Wyman in every single episode. Jane said: 'Chase, you don't belong here. I'm going to run you out of this valley and have Falcon Crest all to myself.' And I yelled back: 'Angela, you know that's not true. I care as much about Falcon Crest as you do, and I'll always be here to fight you.' I could do that scene without a script." Robert had filmed several motion picture and tv-movies during his role as Chase, and after 'Falcon Crest', he continued working in the medium, appearing in 'Invisible Stranger', 'The Return of Desperado', 'Double Standard', 'Beyond The Stars', 'Price of the Bride', 'With Murder In Mind', and 'For Love and Glory'. Further to this, Foxworth appeared in the short lived prime-time soap, '2000 Malibu Road', and in 'Star Trek Deep Space Nine'. Foxworth spent his time with his late wife, Elizabeth Montgomery (from 'Bewitched), and his two children. In October of 1996, Foxworth appeared with his son, Bo, in 'Galileo', at Center Stage, Baltimore, directed by Irene Lewis. Foxworth is currently working on 'Lateline' for NBC-TV, where he stars as Pearce McKenzie.
