Biography
Elmo Sputterspark was born on August 6th,
1956 in St. Canard. Right away his parents, Matthew and Geniveve,
noticed that there was something different about their child.
(Especially when he seemed more interested in the lights in the
hospital then anything else.) Little did they realize just how
special their little Elmo really was.
Within the first few months of his life,
he out grew every toy on the market, from cradle toys to puzzles to
remote control cars. After a year, even television became a bore. In
an attempt to have something enjoyable to play with, Elmo started
making his own toys.
He would start out with Leggos, then
slowly proceed, untill he suceeded in producing a genuine, working
invention. At the young age of three, Elmo created the Electric
Banana Doll. He made it talk, walk, and poke holes in boxes. The
story of this young inventor was on the front page of newspapers
across the country for weeks.
When he was five, his fame started
drifting away. Toy companies were not interested in his inventions
any more. The phone calls and fan mail became less and less, and when
he started school there was none at all.
Although he was an exceptional child, his
family was none other then ordinary. His dad was an insurance
salesman, and his mom stayed at home. His older brother, Sean, was an
accomplished soccer player. He would win awards, but at times these
would seem no more then dirt accomplishments. His little sister,
Danielle, was a great actress. She had a chance to star in a big
movie, but her role had to be canceled because Elmo had an interview
in another state. It is easy to see why there were such hard feelings
between the little inventor and his siblings.
When Elmo was only six years old, his
brother and sister had organized an "I Hate Elmo" club. They would
play mean tricks on him, not include him in their games, and ignore
his pathetic pleas for companionship. After a while, his deoression
turned into anger. He had a kind heart, but this was destroyed slowly
by his two cruel siblings. Since he had no real friends, he hung out
most of the time with his parents.
Because of the close bond between him and
his folks, going to schools was difficult. To impress his teachers,
he'd act really smart and be nice to them. The consequence of this
was that he would become teacher's pet, which would cause his
classmates to hate him. To make up for this, he would try to act
cool. You know, talking in class, putting frogs in the teacher's
drawers, and that sort of thing. Unfortunatly this would put an
uncomfortable distance between him and his teachers. Despite all of
his efforts, he could never fit in. Eventually he gave up all
attempts to be cool, and made himself content to be a nerd.
The worst was in high school. He only
went out with a girl once, and they went to an auction. Later he
found out that was because she felt sorry for him. He felt stupid
because he had worn his finest clothes and even a tie. He never
understood why she didn't like him. The worst was when he had a crush
on Preena Lott. She was the girlfriend of Hamstring, the bully that
hated him most. Elmo claims to have almost had a chance for her to
like him, but it was ruined when the "I Hate Elmo" club told some
rumors about him to Preena. They said that he wore women's underwear.
(Of course, this was not true!) It seemed that Danielle and Sean
never got tired of their little club, for they continued picking on
their poor brother even in high school.
It was about this time when Elmo started
to become evil. He would do things against the school faculty, like
spilling milk on purpose or turning a paper in late. Then, he thought
that these were major crimes. Of course now he knows that they were
just the start.
The night of the prom was where it all
really began. Elmo was frustrated, though not surprised, that he
didn't have a date. Instead, he entertained himself by working on one
of his inventions, having to do with static electricity. As a joke,
Hamstring and a couple of his friends cornered him and strapped him
to his project. After a few hours of exposure, his mind became
scrambled and he gained the power to control electricity! With his
new image, he decided to come up with a new name. At first he wanted
to be Megawatt, but that was taken by the band at the prom. He
finally decided on Megavolt.
The prom night was also the night Megs
and Darkwing had their first fight. Megavolt decided to hold all of
the people at the prom hostage, including Preena Lott, Hamstring, and
his siblings. Drake Mallard found this a good time to become Darkwing
Duck, and he dueled with Megs.
It seems that there are two sides to
Megavolt. One side is the chronic villain who is an evil mastermind
with no real regard for feelings. It is not uncommen to find him
robbing a bank or commiting various other felonies. He is perhaps
best known for stealing lightbulbs to "free them from slavery." On
the other hand, he is an intelligent man who invents great things and
has perhaps unsurpassed knowledge of electricity. In this frame of
mind he can be very sweet and caring, as all of us Megavolt admirers
know.
He has indeed had a lot of
accomplishments in his time. At one point in his life, he started a
buisness called MicroHard. Soon, however, he got bored with this
pastime and gave the entire company away to a kid he found on the
streets. This kid was Bill Gates, who later changed the name of the
company to Microsoft and stole all of the credit.
He wasn't completely without fame in his
adult life. He became a star on the popular show, Darkwing
Duck.
Even though he was an outcast for most of
his early life, and very few truly appreciate him, he has made his
place in this world a very usefull one.
The Rest of the
Story...
What ever happened
to Megavolt's parents? Or his siblings? Or some of the bullies at
his high school? Where did they go? What kind of life did they
lead? Were they ever justified for their cruelty? The rest of the
story lies here...
Jeneveve and
Mathew Sputterspark are Megavolt's favorite people. Besides being his
parents, they are also his friends, guidence, support and mentors.
They rooted Megsie the whole way and (as all sane parents would be)
are very proud of their son. What do they think of Megavolt's
crimes? Well, they don't know about them. If you're thinking about
spilling they beans, give up, they won't believe it. Besides,
nothing could change the way they feel about him. They are the only
ones that have ever truly loved Megavolt (before us!) and are so
close in relationship, they could even call him Sparky without
getting zapped (he hates that nickname, if you don't know). What do
they think about his electrical self? Well they were both a little
dissipointed at first, for his sake, but they've learned to
appreciate it. Even now that Megavolt is a star they are close. He
visits his folks periodiclyat the mansion he gave them.
Danielle was
always one of the popular girls at school; thus she had a big-ego
attitude. This continued throughout her adult life, for she did end
up becoming a movie star. Even though she is always just a fill in
and is paid very little, she is still very proud of herself. She
lives in a small apartment in Hollywood with her never-present
husband, Rich. She has 14 children, all of which she has sent to
boarding school. She has grown to respect Megavolt for his control
of electricity and even more for his money. Nonetheless, she still
puts lightbulbs in slavery. Whenever she sees her make-up mirror
which iscircled with at least 30 lightbulbs, a mischivious grin is
plasterend onher face. She only calls her parents to tell them she's
in yet another movie. Besides that and an occasional card, there are
no connections between her and her family.
Sean was also an
ego-centric guy in high-school. He was nominated Homecoming King and
always had a date in line. He was humbled in his later years,
however. Of course, he never did become a big sports staras he
aticipated. Instead, he is a janitor at his parent's mansion. He
got married once, but she left him for a gondolier in Italy. He is
slowly starting to have a good relationship with his parents, however
unhealthy it is. He has no connections with Megavolt except to clean
up after him on his visits. He secretly admires his younger brother
and saves all the lightbulbs he can. One day he hopes to become
friends with his long lost brother.
Megavolt did seek
revenge of Hamstring and Treena once. Unfortunatly, a very annoying
Darkwing Duck had to stop him and ruin all of his plans.
Gruff Tons was a
bully that very few people know about. He was the one who would
always post posters with Megavolt in a crossed out circle, or
nominate him for high school title of "biggest nerd." Although Gruff
never laid a finger on Megavolt, he has left many scars. Megavolt
stilll has nightmares of the times Gruff would corner him in the
bathroom and make him give up his lunch money. One day when Tons was
scouting the neighborhood for people to pick on, someone removed the
lidoff a manhole right in front of him. No one ever seen or heard
him since.
Mr. Bogoon,
Megavolt's 11th grade science teacher, was another of the few on his
good side. He was increadably interested in every invention Megavolt
came up with, and was a very usefull sourse for information. He was
the only person in the entire school that would sign Megavolt's
yearbook. He still teaches 11th grade science at St. Canard High
School.
Hannah was the
only girl that ever went out with Megavolt. She ended up marrying a
botonist, and became a veternarian for large animals. Sometimes she
would see Megavolr on T.V., and swear she saw him somewhere before.
Other than that, she has no memories of her high school
peer.
