Group Affiliation: X-Men, formerly X-Factor, Avengers, New Defenders, and Champions

Hank McCoy was one of Charles Xavier's original team of X-Men. Originally appearing as a normal human, Hank drank a serum which gave him blue fur. Over the years, Hank has been a member of the Defenders (issues #103-152) and the Avengers (issues #137-211), as well as being a founding member of X-Factor with the rest of the original X-Men. He has always been a mainstay of the X-Men, and now assumes the role of resident scientist for the team.

2

As brilliant in mind as he is powerful and agile in form, the Beast's intelligence and sense of humor served him well through-out his years as a premier member of the X-Men. Later while performing an experiment to cure him of his mutancy, he drank the formula, turning into the big blue guy we know today. His powers then became increased while his mind remained intact. Beast was once a member the Avengers, the Defenders, X-Factor and, eventually returnedto the X-Men. As one of the world's foremost biochemists, Hank is working with Moira MacTaggert to cure the Legacy Virus plaguing mutant-kind and now human-kind, too. For a while, Beast was locked up, while his AOA counterpart, the Dark Beast, was impersonating him. Beast escaped, while the Dark Beast had allied with Onslaught, and later, the Brotherhood. He is currently dating news anchor, Trish Tilby.

3

Real Name: Henry "Hank" McCoy

Powers: Great agility, strength, intelligence, stamina. Also have fangs and really big nails/claws.

Height:5'11'

Weight: 350 lbs.

First Appearance: X-Men (vol.1) #1

Creators :Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Profile: Henry "Hank" McCoy - the Beast- is a founding member of the X-Men. Among all his original team-mates, Hank had the best childhood, between loving parents, and so his temper and way of living was one of the happiest at the mansion. Beast, along with the X-Men had many adventures. But, while away from the team, Hank made a terrible mistake: testing a new substance that he was using to study the x-factor, Beast tried the substance on himself. This caused a further mutation on his body, covering him with grey fur (that later became blue), fangs and great nails. He had then indeed become a "beast".

After this incident, Beast began to work with the Avengers, as he kept his studies in the biogenetic area. Some years after, Hank would return to his fellow mutants when Jean Grey - Phoenix - formed the X-Factor, by reuniting her former team-mates of the Original X-Men. As he fought along his friends, Hank managed to cure him from his beastlike condition, but was sent back to it by the mutant known as Infectia, who he helped years after this when she contracted the Legacy Virus. Like a horrible beast, Hank kept with his good humour and charismatic personality. He was reunited with his former girlfriend, Trish Tilby, now a news reporter, but they didn't get back together by then.

In X-Factor, Beastīs worst enemy was Apocalypse, who constantly tried to seduce the genius mind of McCoy to work for him - desire that Henry never gave to High Lord. In one of these battles, Beast became a friend of a ship, one of Apocalypse's research machines. The Ship, as it/she became to be called, really was the sixth member of X-Factor, helping the team in many occasions, on Earth or in outer space. The Ship was ultimately destroyed in a battle with Apocalypse. After the fight with the Shadow King, the X-Men and X-Factor merged forming the Blue and Gold Stryke Force. Beast filled a rank in the Blue team, fighting by the leadership of his great friend Cyclops, but away from his best friend, Iceman. But Hankīs biggest dilemma was not that: it was, and still is, the need to find a cure for the Legacy Virus, Stryfeīs "gift" to the world. Henry spent some time in space, helping his X-Team-mates, proving how much of a leader he can be. Back on Earth, his love for Trish Tilby made him fight with Wolverine, who accused her of anti-mutant paranoia since the disclosure of the Legacy Virus.

AOA Counterpart: In the Age of Apocalypse, Hank was the Dark Beast.

3

Profile:As the X-Men from the future, Bishopīs background is sometimes confusing, but it can be understand if told in his chronological order: he was born in the dark future where the X-Men were murdered, but farther in time than the story told in Days of Future Past. Around 50 years after this tale, Bishop was born. This happened after the Summers rebellion, which seems to have restored order to the world, taking the Sentinels out of power and taking mutants out of concentration camp. Although in this time home-superior are more accepted than before, they are still seen with suspicious eyes and are often monitored. Some important political powers in this era are the U.S. government, the Europe Council, the new Hellfire Club and last, but far from least, the X.S.E. . Created to protect human and mutants alike from evilīs mutant attacks and other forces, the Xavier Security Enforcers is a group of strong mutant who work for the dream of coexistence created a century ago, by Charles Francis Xavier.

Bishop and his sister, Shard, joined this military force, and soon grew inside it. Bishop, specially, became a higher commander, having two men - and friends - under his commands: Malcolm and Randall. Shard usually worked with him also, until some problems began to happen. The son of one of the leaders of the Hellfire Club began to organise attack groups of mutants. This man had an affair with Shard some time before, and she couldn't accept his betrayal to their dreams. This man was called Fitzroy, and soon became one of Bishopīs worst enemies. Another problem in this world were creatures named exumes, mutant vampires, controlled in a very similar way of that of todayīs Emplate, enemy of Generation X. Bishop fought them many times, as he did to Mountjoy. This villain who enters peopleīs bodies and use them as host was responsible for many deaths and crimes. In a time filled with mutants, that proved to very dangerous, as Bishop found out before he could capture him. He also had some battles with other group of mutants, the Fanatix, but has also defeated them and their leader, Roust.

Again with Fitzroy: in one fight he dragged Shard into a trap, where she was attacked by exumes and became one of them. Bishop was forced to stop her with lethal force. He discovered after that she had become a hologram/photon based life form, that he kept with him as with a matrix. The big man tracked Fitzroy, as he became his most wanted criminal. In one of this search missions, Bishop, Malcolm and Randall tracked him down to the series of tunnels that run beneath Manhattan (the former Morlock tunnels). He found a distress call made by Phoenix, asking help to all the X-groups, against a traitor. This became a quest for Bishop and his men. They went to a prison in the future, where the last X-Men was living. The man called Remy Le Beau gave them only half answers, but assured that this disaster would happen before the end of the 20 th century. Fitzroy, continuing his chaos search, freed many prisoners from another prison and put Bishop back on his tracks. His group went after the villain and crossed one of his time portals. Arriving in our time, Bishop found out that he could not come back to his time. This time travel came together with an attack of X-Men against Fitzroyīs Sentinels, and the X-Man from the future met his heroes. They fought that day, since Bishop didnīt believe they were the real X-Men. Soon after, Bishop and his men began to search and kill the prisoners that had returned in time, including Mountjoy. But in one of this fights, Malcolm and Randall gave their life to save their leader. Bishop would be found by the X-Men, almost dead, and invited by Xavier to join them.

In the group he always kept an open eye in Gambit, who he though was the X-Traitor. He found a way to adapt to a time he could not kill anyone in sight. After some adventures he defeated Mountjoy again and was free from the ghosts of his past, except for one of them: he still believed that he had killed Shard. But Forge discovered that she was still alive, in some way, and that made Bishop even happier. He started to have almost a friendship relation with Remy, but not after the greatest battle of his life: The Age of Apocalypse. When the X-Men went back in time to stop Legion from killing Xavier, they failed, and Xavier was accidentally murdered by his son. The only mutant who stuck in time was Bishop, since he absorbed the chronal energy of that moment. He didnīt remember all the details of his past, but when he met Magneto and his men, all came back. Thanks to his mind and memory, the AOA X-Men managed to revert things to itīs old way, sending Bishop again back in time, stopping Legion. All things got normal, as Bishop returned to his young body.

But he couldnīt remember this adventure either, so he began to question his sanity. Xavier couldnīt help him, thanks to a disturbance caused in the astral plane, so the big manīs life beagn to fall apart. In this time, he, Cyclops and Phoenix shared many conversations, since Scott and Jean had memory problems too, thanks to the fact they raised Nathan in the future, and the 10 years worth memories were packed in their heads. In this troubled time, Bishop was attacked by the Dark Beast, who recognized him from AOA, and his minion, Fatale. He was later captured by Sinister, who also showed interest in his memories. With all this attcks, Bishop regained trust on his mind, now that proves could show that what he remembered really happened. He got even closer to Remy, almost thinking that he wasnīt the X-Tratior. The most traumatic thing in Bishopīs life was the revelation that the x-traitor was in fact Xavier, in the shape of Onslaught. He saved the X-Men - absorbing a killing blow from Onslaught - changing forever his future. Not so long after the fight against Onslaught, Bishop went to space with some fellow X-Men to fight the Phalanx and save the Shiar. In this battle he and Deathbird became close, and almost had a romantic thing going on. But when the traitor of the Shiar told Bishop that the X-Men were dead and that he was paralysed (thanks to an explosion), Bishop understood what she really is, and is planning his escape back to Earth, even if his and Deathbirdīs ship was thrown in route to a burning sun...
