The Front Page




A witty and engrossing story about one whirlwind night in the lives of Chicago newspapermen. The two most important of whom are Walter Burns (Menjou), the newspaper editor of the Chicago Post and Hildy Johnson (O'Brien) his star reporter. Hildy has decided that he wants to get married and go to New York. Burns will do almost anything to thwart his attempts and keep him in Chicago to cover an execution scheduled for the next morning. Good cast with outstanding performances by Menjou and O'Brien. Based on the Broadway play by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.
