A dark, moving story that epitomizes the crime-ridden days of the roaring twenties. In it Jimmy Cagney plays a soldier returning formt he Great War, who gets mixed up in the bootlegging racket and soon becomes a big shot in the crime world. Strong acting by Cagney and good supporting roles by Bogart, George, and McHugh.
