Yankee Doodle Dandy

(1941)

An excellent bio-pic, musical chronicaling (not too accurately) the life and times of the great Irish-American song and dance man George M. Cohan. A top notch film with excellent acting especially by Cagney who won his only Academy Award for this role. Contains classic Cohan hits such as Yankee Doodle Dandy, You're a Grand Old Flag, and the World War I marching song Over There.

Stars: James Cagney, Joan Leslie, Walter Huston, Richard Whorf, Irene Manning, George Tobias, Rosemary De Camp, Jeanne Cagney
Director: Michael Curtiz
Setting: mainly New York

Genre: Musical
