At the beginning of the film, while MI6 is wondering what has happened to 007, "Q" is busy presenting his new "radioactive lint", but it is never used in the film, and is quickly forgotten.

After he breaks into Gumbolt's office, Bond uses an electronic safecracker to gain access to Gumbolt's files on Blofeld's ancestry. He then makes use of his portable copy machine to duplicate the files.
