At the
beginning of Thunderball, 007 escapes from a fight by utilizing his
nifty rocket-powered pack, which fits snugly on his back.
Later in the film, he uses his tape recorder (which looks exactly like a book) to replay all the events that occurred in his hotel room while he was away. This way, he is able to get the drop on one of Largo's men, who happens to be hiding in the bathroom.
Bond uses a
waterproof watch, which also serves as a geiger counter, to snoop around
the Disco Volante. He gives his other geiger counter (which
appears to be a normal camera) to Domino, so that she can do further
investigating inside the boat.
Another camera used by Bond is able to take underwater snapshots, and can be loaded with infrared film. This device comes in handy when 007 is examining the bottom of the Disco Volante.
With his pocket-sized air device, 007 can easily maneuver underwater with a five-minute supply of oxygen, only to be used when other breathing utilities or oxygen tanks are not available. Bond uses his air tube to escape Largo's sharks, and later to fight in an underwater war towards the end of the film.
In order
to hold his own against Largo's underwater fighters, Bond makes good use
of his underwater jet pack, which not only provides oxygen, but has a built-in
lamp for night swimming. As an added bonus, 007 is able to blast away
at his enemies while underwater, thanks to the jet pack's spear guns.
