Rockies Turn Rose

                    By Ian Tyson ASCAP

Wide awake in a west side Fort Worth motel
Interstate 30 pounding in my head
                    Thinking of a quiet place
Nights were soft and full of grace
Sleep would come so easy in her bed
And I would wake to find the Calgary girl
                    Watching the morning star
She'd say I can almost touch it babe
                    It doesn't look that far

And love was wrapped around us
As we'd put on our winter clothes
                    Walking through the Calgary morning
                    Where the Rockies turn rose
And I have watched that morning star
                    A thousand times since then
And hoper that it would lead me back
                    To that Calgary girl again
But time has gone and slipped away
                    And every highway I chose
Took me further from the sunrise
                    Where the Rockies turn rose
But someday I'll find that Calgary girl
                    Where the Rockies turn rose
