Mexico, by James Taylor
Words and music by James Taylor
------------------------------------------------------
The Intro is based on these chords--D A D Bm A Em Bm C G
Here's the tab I use, with the chords indicated above...in other words,
you'll find these notes,(mostly) within the chords indicated.
D A D Bm A Em Bm C G
1----2-----0--2---------0--0-----------3-2-0----0-0------------
2------3---2--3------3--2--2-----------------3-------3-3-------

4-0-----------0----4----2--2-----------------------------------
5----------0-----2------------0--2-----------2--3-3--------2-3-
6-----------------------------------0----------------3-3-------
...repeat once, then leave off the last 2 notes on the 5th string, and
after that short 2 beat pause, you're into the song. To get the JT
"feel", try backstrumming/aropeggiating just the high notes in the G and D
chords. That keeps me from being too predictable in the rhythm
department, and also makes for a nice change when the chorus kicks in,
when you can rock it a little.
G D A G
Way down here- you need a reason to move
G D A G
Feel a fool- running your stateside games
G D A G
Lose your load- leave your mind behind Baby James

Americano got the sleepy eye
But his body's still shaking like a live wire
Sleepy senorita with the eyes on fire
Whoa Mexico, you sound so sweet with the sun sinking low
Moon's so bright, like to light up the night
Make everything all right...
