Note:
General George Stoneman commanded the Army of the Potomac's cavalry
division during the Peninsular Campaign, the Cavalry Corps at
Chancellorsville, and the William T. Sherman's cavalry during the Atlanta
campaign. During this campaign, he led a raid on macon, Georgia, during
which he was captured with about 700 of his troopers (the incident became
known as Stoneman's Macon Raid).
