(Count 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)

Cool off!
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
I know you're mad 'cause I was wrong
But that's no reason to say "So long"
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
(Count 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 20)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 30)
(Count to a hundred)
Cool off!
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
If we broke up, ya know ya'd die
Oh, don't deny it 'cause so would I
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
(Count 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 20)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 30)
(Count to a hundred)

Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
The two us can't both be right
I said I'm sorry, so hold me tight
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
(Count 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 20)
(2, 4, 6, 8, 30)

I wanna kiss you and hold you tight
So please forgive me, please understand
Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
(Count 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)

(2, 4, 6, 8, 30)
(Count to a hundred)

Pepper-hot baby don't say "goodbye" to me
ADDITIONAL NOTE: In the last verse, the "AAB, CCB, DDB" rhyme scheme breaks down.
Either Alicia ran out of words to write or else Jaye sang it wrongly.
The obvious rhyme to precede "understand" would be "hand" but then they wouldn't sound
like folks who'd also call each other "baby", would they?
"Baby" implies they are more than hand-holders. This transcriber only reports what he hears.
