Last year, "Disturbing Behavior" turned out to be a stupid movie with a cool poster, and "The
Avengers" turned out to be, er, "destined for cult status", shall we say (I still think it was
fab). So this year, I decided not to pick anything out of the usual summer fare to trumpet.
So far, there have been wonderful surprises ("Run Lola Run") and dismal disappointments ("Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me"), but apart from an 800 pound gorilla known as "The Phantom Menace", we have yet to experience an "event" movie. Last year, the summer was decimated by the likes of "Armageddon" and "Godzilla" and "Deep Impact" and others of such ilk. This year, all we get is...
