Tom Cruise - Nicole KidmanVenice International Film Festival : The Venice International Film Festival opened yesterday. As a tribute to Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut wil be screened in Venice. The head of the jury director Emir Kusturica said "Kubrick's movie showed us the way to go. He showed us that cinema is still art." Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman eulogized Kubrick as not only a great director, but also as a smart, sensitive, funny man. Tom Cruise said "When we're 70 or 80 years old, we'll look back on this century and say: 'I was there with Stanley Kubrick,"'

Outlaws : Accoridng to Hollywood Reporter, Bruce Willis is in talks to star in Outlaws opposite Val Kilmer. The movie, written by Harley Peyton is based on a true story about two bank robbers caught in a love triangle with a girl who is presumed to have been kidnapped by the pair. It is described as a modern Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The shooting will start in January.

End of Days : The VIVA music channel in Germany reports that the first single from the new Guns N' Roses album will be one of the songs (if not the title track) for the upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. As you know Guns N' Roses previously did the song "You Could Be Mine" for Terminator 2.

Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween : Lil Kim will star in Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween. Jenny McCarthy has exited the project some time ago and Kim will take her role.

Sandra BullockMiss Congeniality : Sandra Bullock will star in the comedy movie Miss Congeniality. The movie is about an FBI agent who goes undercover as Miss New Jersey in a national beauty pageant. However, things get serious when the agent has to thwart the efforts of a group that threatens to bomb the event. No director is yet attached.

The Legend of Bagger Vance : Charlize Theron is negotiating to star in The Legend of Bagger Vance. The other cast includes Matt Damon and Will Smith. If signs Theron will play the organizer of a golf tournament that provides a chance for redemption for a champion golfer poised for greatness until he became a soldier in WWI and was devastated by the conflict. Robert Redford will direct the picture which is set to start in September.

Bread and Roses : Ken Loach (My Name is Joe) will direct Bread and Roses. The film centers on a young Mexican woman who crosses the border to join the rest of her family in L.A., taking a job alongside her sister as an office maid. The movie will star Adrien Brody and Elpido Garillo. The script is by Paul Laverty who also wrote My Name is Joe and Carla's Song.

Being John Malkovich : The trailer for the movie Being John Malkovich is released. The picture stars John Cusack, Cameron Diaz, Catherine Keener and John Malkovich.

Brad PittThe Mexican : Brad Pitt is in negotiations to star in The Mexican. The film is about a mobster who travels to Mexico to track down a cursed antique pistol. The script is currently out to directors. No start date has been confirmed.

Indiana Jones 4 : Producer Rick McCallum, who will likely to co-produce the new film with George Lucas, told the London Sunday Express that other projects will prevent Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Harrison Ford from uniting on a new Indiana Jones movie until the year 2005. "We actually finished work on the three years ago, but the hold-up is caused by everybody having commitments years in advance. George Lucas and I plan to finish Star Wars Episodes II and III in the next five years and then will definitely do the other Indy. By then, Harrison and Steven will be available too," McCallum said. By that time Harrison Ford will be 63.

Arnold SchwarzeneggerSeven Men From Now : Arnold Schwarzenegger has agreed to star in Seven Men From Now, a remake of the 1956 western that starred Randolph Scott. Schwarzenegger will play a sheriff seeking revenge when his wife is killed by bandits. Before that, it appears likely he will star in the action movie The Sixth Day with director Roger Spottiswoode.

Taxi Dog : Robin Williams is attached to star and produce Taxi Dog for Warner Bros. The movie will be based on a series of picture books written by Debra and Sal Barracca and it concerns a mean street dog and a mean cab driver that are forced by bizarre circumstances into a reluctant partnership. No director is attached yet.

The Bone Collector : A full trailer for Denzel Washington's The Bone Collector is released.

13th WarriorWeekend Box Office : The Sixth Sense became the first movie in more than a year to became first in the box office for four consecutive weekends, and almost doubled the Banderas starrer The 13th Warrior. Saving Private Ryan was the last movie to top the box office for four weekends, The Sixth Sense joins 1997's Titanic'' and this year's Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace as the only movies to earn more than $20 million for four weekends in a row.

Wesley SnipesArt of War : Donald Sutherland is joining Art of War which stars Wesley Snipes. According to Variety, Sutherland will take the part of an U.N. secretary general in the film about a conspiracy to bring down the United Nations. Wesley Snipes will play a spy who is framed for the murder of the Chinese ambassador and has to clear himself before he gets caught.

The Sixth Sense Sequel : According to USA Today, the film’s poducers, Roger Birnbaum and Gary Barber, asked the movies director and writer M. Night Shyamalan if he "had a seventh sense" The answer was "I probably do." It is also reported that Shyamalan has another project that prevents him thinking of the sequel immediately.

Mummy 2 : Stephen Sommers is already working on the script for the sequel to The Mummy. In a recent interview Sommers said, "I'm writing away. Our intention is to try to make it as good, if not better, than the first one. Not necessarily bigger -- just better. I think The Mummy worked so well mainly because of its character. The special effects were fantastic. I've got to come up with a whole new set, not rely on old tricks."

Liv TylerThe Lord of the Rings : Liv Tyler will play the Queen of the Fairies in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Liv Tyler also plays alongside Helen Hunt and Richard Gere in Dr. T. and the Women. According to the deal, Tyler will leave the nine-month Lord of The Rings shooting for three-weeks and she will play in Dr T. The other cast includes Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood and Christopher Lee. The movie will have a budget of at least $130 million.

Martin Lawrence : Comic actor Martin Lawrence is recovering from a coma happened by a jog in heavy clothing on a hot day. Hospital spokeswoman said "He was alert. He was following commands," The 34 year old actor was able to write but he could not speak because doctors were keeping him on a ventilator as a precautionan

Weekend Box Office Challenge : Antonio Banderas starrer The 13th Warrior is the favorite to win the weekend competition. Diane Venora and Omar Sharif co-star in the movie that concerns a 10th century Arab mercenary recruited by Viking conquerors to save them from a flesh-eating nemesis. The other favorite is Bruce Willis' The Sixth Sense. The movie has already took $120 in three weeks. The other debutants are Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron starrer The Astronaut's Wife, In Too Deep,The Muse, A Dog of Flanders and Dudley Do-Right.
