Bruce WillisThe Kid : Bruce Willis will star in The Kid. The story is about a successful 40-year-old jerk who is given an opportunity to spend time with a boy who is his 10-year-old self; the relationship gives him a fuller perspective on who he was and is. The film will be directed by John Turteltaub (Phenomenon). The script is by Audrey Wells (The Truth About Cats & Dog). Turteltaub said `When I heard that pitch, my heart leapt,The script is hilariously funny and at the same time breaks your heart. I couldn't say no."

BFI Top 100 : Carol Reed's The Third Man which starred Joseph Cotten, Orson Welles and Trevor Howard has been voted the top British film of all time by the British Film Institute. Brief Encounter is second, Lawrence of Arabia is third. Director David Lean has six movies in total, three films in the top five. Alec Guiness stars in nine of the 100 film. Michael Caine on seven. Only one film from the 1990s, Danny Boyle's Trainspotting is in top 10.

Anasazi Moon : Skeet Ulrich will play opposite Gary Oldman in the comedy Anasazi Moon for writer-director David Seltzer. It is the story of two amateur criminals (Oldman and Ulrich) who escape from police only to stumble upon an orphaned baby. The shooting will begin in October.

Men In Black 2 : In an interview with Britain's Popcorn magazine, Tommy Lee Jones said if a sequel is to be made he is ready to return his role. Jones said "If I were offered a job to work with those guys again, that would be a lot of fun".

George ClooneyThe Perfect Storm : George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg stars in the true story Perfect Storm. The New York Post reports that the $100 million disaster pic is already $40 million over budget, set back by the beastly weather plaguing its shooting. Director Wolfgang Peterson shot the film's final scene early on. Also the paper says George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg a hard time because they don't look enough like the doomed men they portray and actor Michael Ironside resembles his character so strongly that he was approached by a local who demanded the $5,000 owed him by the dead crewmember. Ironside replied, "Man, I'm an actor. I'm just playing a part." The Post's source says the man replied, "Yeah? Well I want my money."

Bandits : According to Holywood Reporter director Joel Schumacher is developing Bandits for producers John Wells and Bill Gerber. The movie is a remake of a 1997 German film that focuses on four female convicts who escape from prison and achieve fame after forming a rock band. No cast is attached.

Antonio Banderas : Associated Press reports that Antonio Banderas will portray Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dairo in a $30 million biopic. Darío, a key figure in literary modernism, died in 1916. The movie will be filmed lived in Nicaragua, Spain, Chile, Argentina, France, and the United States and is scheduled for a world premiere at the 2000 Cannes film festival.

Morgan FreemanAlong Came a Spider : Lee Tamahori (The Edge) is in final talks to direct Along Came a Spider, the prequel to the 1997 thriller Kiss the Girls. Morgan Freeman will return his role as Dr. Alex Cross, a Washington, D.C., criminal psychologist and detective. This time, the doctor must find two kidnapped girls before a serial killer does them in. The film is based on James Patterson's 1993 thriller of the same name.

Barbarella : Warner Bros. is negotiating with Drew Barrymore to play in Barbarella. The movie is a remake 1968 sci-fi film which stars Jane Fonda. It is about Barbarella, a wide-eyed 41st century astronaut, trying to thwart an evildoer who’s bent on laying his hands on a deadly positronic ray. It is reported that Barrymore has long been interested in playing in the movie.

N : Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) will play Napoleon Bonaparte in an independently financed film named N. David Jones will direct the movie and this will be the fourth time the two worked together. The movie tells of the French emperor in exile on the island of St. Helena. The true story focuses on his unlikely friendship with a 13-year-old English girl, who ultimately must decide whether to help him escape. The shooting will begin in January.

ScreamScream 3 : When talking to People Magazine, Carrie Fisher revealed she will be making a cameo in Scream 3. Fisher's role is only expected to take one day to shoot indicating a quite minor role (similar to her "Austin Powers" cameo).

Dogma & Random Hearts : The official sites for Dogma and Random Hearts are now open. Dogma is a comedy that stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck,Linda Fiorentino, Alanis Morisette. Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas stars in the romantic drama Random Hearts. Dogma Official Site, Random Hearts Official Site.

The World is Not Enough :The super hi-resolution trailer for the new James Bond movie The World is Not Enough is now available. The film stars Pierce Brosnan, Sophie Marcaeu and Denise Richards.

102 Dalmatians : According to Variety, Gerard Depardieu is in advanced talks to play opposite Glenn Close in 102 Dalmatians,the sequel to the hit 1996 picture 101 Dalmatians. Depardieu will play Monsieur LePelt, who works in tandem with Cruella DeVille (newly let out of jail) in her dogged attempts to transform spotted canines into coats.Kevin Lima (Tarzan) will direct the movie.

Spider ManSpider Man : Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly interested in starring in the big-screen adaptation of the Spiderman. New York Daily News reports that screenwriter David Koepp doesn't want DiCaprio to star in the movie. Koepp says :"It's important that it not be anyone famous at all. This is not about 'So-and-So is Spider Man!' It's going to be a wonderful opportunity to make someone a star."

The Art of War : Variety reports that Michael Biehn (Aliens) joins the cast of the action thriller The Art of War. Biehn will portray Wesley Snipes’ partner, who is a secret agent.

Weekend Box Office : Blue Streak came firstwith $19 million while the Kevin Costner starrer For The Love of The Game finished second. Sixth Sense took $11 million and came third. Stigmata and A Stir Of Echoes were 4th and 5th.

The Nutty Professor 2: Klumps : Janet Jackson has signed on to play the lead role opposite Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor 2: Klumps. Jackson will play a university professor. The shooting will begin on October 5 in Los Angeles.

The Insider : The trailer for The Insider is released. The film stars Al Pacino, Russell Crowe, Lindsay Crouse, Diane Venora for director Michael Mann (Heat). The movie is based on a true story about a CBS 60 Minutes-episode in 1994 on malpractices in the tobacco industry, that was not aired because CBS parent company Westinghouse objected. Pacino plays the 60 Minutes reporter.

Road Trip : Amy Smart (Outside Providence) will play the female lead in Road Trip. The film focuses on the exploits of four students making a 1000 mile trek to another college. It will be the directional debut for Todd Phillips.
