Salma HayekTime Code 2000 : According to Hollywood Reporter, Salma Hayek has signed to star in Mike Figgis’s (Leaving Las Vegas) Time Code 2000 project. The film will be shot entirely with digital cameras in an experimental, cinema-verite style. Shooting will begin on Oct. 29 and continue for a full month. Pic centers on a woman who had created a new life for herself in Manhattan after murdering her abusive boyfriend seven years earlier. When corrupt cops find out the truth and blackmail her, she reveals her past to her psychologist husband, and the two attempt to combat the blackmailers.

Little Nicky : Patricia Arquette will star in Adam Sandler’s fantasy-comedy Little Nicky. Arquette will play the love interest to Sandler. The film is about young hellion Sandler as he searches for his trouble-making brother in New York City who had left home after a fight with their father, Satan (Keitel), who refused to let him take over the family business. Sandler got $20 million to star in the film and wrote the screenplay with Tim Herlihy.

Steven SpielbergIf Only It Were True : DreamWorks SKG has bought the rights of Marc Levy's first novel If Only It Were True for $2 million dollars. Steven Spielberg will produce and possibly direct the film. Veteran scribe Ron Bass is likely to adapt Levy's French-language romantic comedy which was the object of attention of the other big studios.

Waking Up in Reno : At first Brad Pitt was attached to star with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston in the romance movie Waking Up in Reno. After the two declared that they dropped out now Billy Bob Thornton is interested in starring in the film. The interesting fact is if Thorton signs odds are good that his girlfiriend Laura Dern will sign on as his love interest. Jordan Brady (The Third Wheel) is likely to direct.

Eye Of The Beholder : The trailer for the upcoming Ewan McGregor - Ashley Judd movie Eye Of The Beholder is released. MacGregor plays a private detective who is assigned to follow Ashley Judd all over the country. The other cast includes Jason Priestley and K.D. Lang.

Arnold SchwarzeneggerThe Sixth Day : Michael Rooker has joined the cast of the Arnold Schwarzenegger action/thriller The Sixth Day. The film is about a man (Schwarzenegger) who returns home one day to discover that he has been replaced by a clone. Rooker will play the leader of a group assembled to hunt down and kill Schwarzenegger's character. Director Roger Spottiswoode is expected to start shooting the film this December in Vancouver.

The Pledge : According to Hollywood Reporter, Jack Nicholson will star in and Sean Penn will direct The Pledge.This will be their first reteaming since The Crossing Guard. Principal photography is expected to start in February. The picture wiil be a 1950s-era crime drama based on a novel by Swiss author Friedrich Durrenmatt.

Mission Impossible 2 : New York Daily News reports that the film is behind schedule 43 days and it's budget has increased to $100 million from it's original budget of $80 million. The paper also suggests that while shooting the opening sequence in Utah, Tom Cruise ignored pleas by Paramount execs to scrap the opener entirely, or to use a stunt double for the harrowing scene. The film also stars Ving Rhames, Anthony Hopkins and Thandie Newton and directed by John Woo.

Matthew McConaughey : Actor Matthew McConaughey (EDtv), was arrested in Austin, Texas, on drug-related charges. A spokesman for the Travis County sheriff's office says the 29-year-old actor is in jail waiting to be booked. The Travis County sheriff's office tells the Associated Press that the actor will be charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting transport.

Kevin SpaceyGQ Men of the Year Awards : At award ceremony for GQ magazine's Men Of The Year awards Steven Spielberg got Film Director and Humanitarian awards. Tom Hanks received the GQ Film Actor award for his role Saving Private Ryan. Michael J. Fox took the Television Award while Kevin Spacey won the Theater award for his role in The Iceman Cometh. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jon Bon Jovi were among the presenters.

Flawless : The trailer for the upcoming Joel Schumacher movie starring Robert De Niro is released. The other cast includes Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Rory Cochrane and Barry Miller. The film opens on 24 November.

Robert De NiroThe Score : Robert De Niro will get $15 millions for starring in The Score. The picture is about about a veteran thief who wants to retire, but is blackmailed into,ne last big score. Frank Oz is expected to direct the movie Michael Douglas was previously attached to film, but reportedly went looking for a movie project he could do with girlfriend Catherine Zeta-Jones instead.

Weekend Box Office : Surprisingly The Best Man was the top grossing movie of the weekend box office. Double Jeopardy came second and Fight Club came third. Martin Scorsese's new picture Bringing Out The Dead starring Nicolas Cage and Patricia Arquette was a close fourth while The Story of Us came fifth.

Dustin HoffmanPersonal Injuries : Dustin Hoffman will star in and produce Scott Turow's legal novel Personal Injuries.The story revolves around a personal injury lawyer, to be played by Hoffman, who works himself out of a shady tax situation by taking part in a sting operation to root out corrupt judges. His partner in the undercover operation, and eventual love interest, is a female undercover FBI agent who poses as a paralegal. The production will begin early next year.

Leonardo DiCaprio : Mr Showbiz reports that, director Michael Mann told Access Hollywood that his Howard Hughes biopic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is definitely on. Another onetime project for Mann and DiCaprio, in which Leo would play screen icon James Dean, looks dead in the water. Mann told Access Hollywood, "That project's so backburnered, it's out of the kitchen."
