O-Soul :
Chris Tucker (Rush Hour) can't decide his next project. After
negotiating to star in Friday helmer F. Gary Gray's comedy
Black Knight, he is now about to star in Double O-Soul
which he could get $7 million to star with Mariah Carey. Hype Williams
(Belly), Tucker's favorite director may direct the pic.
Tucker received $3 million for Rush Hour. Tucker will possibly
do Double O-Soul first, and then star in Rush Hour 2.
Tigerland : Joel Schumacher will direct Tigerland which has a total budget less than $10 million. Pic is an ensemble drama about youths combat training for Vietnam. Young Irish stage actor Colin Farrell will star in the movie. Schumacher said that "The pic will shot on a closed-down army base where there will be no makeup artist, hairdresser or production designer.''
Time Code: 2000 : Jeanne Tripplehorn (Waterworld), Kyle MacLachlan (Dune), Julian Sands (Boxing Helena) and Stellan Skarsgard (Breaking The Waves) have signed on to star in Mike Figgis' latest film Time Code: 2000. Salma Hayek will star in the lead. Pic is described as an intense psychodrama set during one day in Los Angeles. The project started shooting this week using improvisational techniques and digital cameras.

Sixth Sense : Bruce Willis
starrer films' domestic boxoffice reached $260.1 million Monday evening, surpassing
Jaws as the 12th highest-grossing film of all time in North
America. Jaws debuted in June 1975 and took in $260 million in North America.
The Secret Road : Michael Fleming reports that director Paul Verhoeven (Starship Troopers) is attached to a project called The Secret Road. The film will be a true-life story of a group of Palestinian Jews in World War II who posed as German troops in order to sabotage the Nazis as they moved from North Africa to Cairo. The script is planned to cover not only the mission, but the political and moral issues involved in doing so.
Angela's Ashes : Director Alan Parker's (Angel Heart, Evita) next film stars Emily Watson, Robert Carlyle and Joe Breen. Based upon the true story of Frank McCourt's youth from his best selling book, Angela's Ashes: a Memoir is a story set in the poorest part of Limerick, Ireland. Young Frank and his siblings are raised in abject poverty by Angela and Malachi, a man whose chronic alcoholism and unemployment are parly responsible for the family's plight.

Harrison
Ford : Harrison Ford will become the 28th recipient of the
American Film Institute's prestigious Life Achievement Award. Ford
will receive the award on Feb. 17 at the Beverly Hilton. "It is fitting
that AFI begin the new millennium by honoring Harrison Ford -- the most popularly
acclaimed actor of our day," AFI board chairman Tom Pollack
said. He added that "To movie audiences around the world, Harrison
represents the quintessential American film hero, and when the history of
the 20th century art form is written, Harrison will play a leading role."
Auggie Rose : William H. Macy and Anne Heche will star in the drama Auggie Rose for first-time feature director Matt Tabak. The other cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Timothy Olyphant and Richard T. Jones. The picture tells the story of an insurance salesman (Macy) whose existence takes a turn when a stranger unexpectedly dies in his arms. Assuming the identity of the dead man, ex-con Auggie Rose, the salesman embarks on a double life but keeps it secret from his live-in girlfriend.
Numbers : Michael Rapaport has joined the cast of Numbers for director Nora Ephron. He joins Tim Roth, John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow. The picture is about a lottery scam and Rapaport will play a thug for hire.

Exorcist:
Dominion : Tom McLoughlin will direct Exorcist: Dominion,
a prequel to the 1973 classic horror film which starred Linda Blair.
The pic is expected to begin production in Africa in the spring but no cast
has been set. Based on the novel by William Peter Blatty, the prequel
traces the story of Father Merrin back to his first encounter with the Devil
during his missionary work in Africa. The script is written by William
Wisher.
Muhammad Ali biopic : Will Smith and Barry Sonnenfeld will not make their third collobration on Muhammad Ali biopic which is in in development at Sony-based Peters Entertainment. According to Hollywood Reporter, sources said Friday that the pic based on the life of the heavyweight boxer, is no longer the next project for actor Smith or helmer Sonnenfeld. Neither has chosen his next film. "But the departure of the Sonnenfeld and Smith team will not stop the development of the pic" a Sony executive said.
The Beautiful Mrs. Seidenmann : Sidney Lumet director of such films Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico has signed to shoot a film based on Andrzej Szczypiroski's best seller The Beautiful Mrs. Seidenmann. Set in the Warsaw ghetto of Nazi-occupied Poland, Szczypiroski's book tells the story of Irma Seidenmann, a blond, blue-eyed Polish Jew trying to use her Nordic looks to escape the concentration camps. The films' budget will be $2.8 million.

Box Office : The
House on Haunted Hill easily became No:1 at the Halloween weekend
by taking $15.1 million. The Best Man was second while
Double Jeopardy still going strong came third. American Beauty
got the fourth spot and Meryl Streep starrer Music Of The Heart
came fifth.

The Beach : The release date for the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer The Beach which was was originally announced for Christmas 1999 is now will be released on February 11. There has been a lot of criticism about the effects of the shooting in the nature. And according to Britain's Guardian newspaper, the scene left post-film on Maya Bay on the island of Phi Phi Lay, is an "ecological disaster." It is doubtful it will ever be the same, as filmmakers had promised.

X-Men : Matthew Sharp has joined the cast of the X-Men movie for the role of the Henry Gyrich. The film will be directed by Bryan Singer. The other cast includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen,Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin.
The Core : Director Peter Hyams (End Of Days) is in final negotiations to direct The Core. The sci-fi thriller centers on a group of terranauts recruited to correct a potentially planet-crushing flaw in the Earth's core, caused by a chemical waste reaction.
