Drew BarrymoreSo Love Returns : Variety reports that Drew Barrymore will star in and produce an adaptation of Robert Nathan's 1958 novel So Love Returns. The novel is about a young writer whose world is shattered by the death of his wife. The man becomes a recluse and disconnects from his two small children until a woman appears magically from the ocean to help him heal.

The Mummy 2 : Universal Pictures announced that Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have agreed to sign on for The Mummy 2, which will start shooting this spring for a May 2001 release. Fraser's salary is expected to be about $12.5 million. Director Stephen Sommers.committed six months ago that he'll writel and direct a sequel.

Warren Beatty : Warren Beatty will get a special prize of the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for career achievement in film on March 26 during the 72nd annual Academy Awards. The former recipients include Cecil B. DeMille, Alfred Hitchcock, Clint Eastwood, Ingmar Bergman and George Lucas. Beatty is the only person ever nominated at one time for Oscars in the producer, director, writer and actor categories. He accomplished this success twice with Heaven Can Wait and for Reds

Meg RyanProof Of Life : David Caruso (NYPD Blues) will star opposite Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe in Proof of Life. The film is inspired by a Vanity Fair article and Crowe will play a hostage negotiator who falls in love with the wife (Ryan) of the man he is hired to save. Shooting is scheduled to begin in March in Ecuador.

Thirteen Ghosts : Producer Joel Silver appeared on UK TV show The Big Breakfast to promote the UK release of House on Haunted Hill and announced that he and Robert Zemeckis are working on a remake of William Castle's Thirteen Ghosts.

Arnold SchwarzeneggerSchwarzenegger&Stallone : According to Hollywood Reporter the World's two leading action stars are searching for a project in which they can star together. The pairing would be the first time that the longtime friends and friendly competitors would play together. The only problem would be the budget. Stallone reportedly earned $20 million for the upcoming Into Thin Air, while Schwarzenegger got $25 million for End of Days as well as for his role as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin. However, it is said that if the right project could be found, they would make it work.

Return To Me : The film stars David Duchovny, Minnie Driver, Bonnie Hunt and James Belushi. A man who falls in love with the woman who received his wife's heart must decide which woman it is who holds his heart.

Steven SpielbergHarry Potter : For a long time here have been rumors about what Steven Spielberg will direct next. According to Variety and the London Times, Spielberg is said to direct Harry Potter after reading the script in late December. It is based on the on the first book of J.K. Rowlings extremely successful fantasy book series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. No scheduling has as yet been announced on the project and no confirmation has been made.

Rules Of Engagement : The film concerns an attorney defending an officer on trial for ordering his troops to fire on civilians after they stormed a U.S. embassy in a third world country. The strong cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley.

Denzel WashingtonWeekend Box Office : Despite opening in less theaters, Ice Cube starrer Next Friday got the first place in the weekend. Last week's number one Stuart Little backed into the second place. Denzel Wshington's biographical drama The Hurricane came third while Winona Ryder- Angelina Jolie starrer Girl, Interrupted was fourth. The Green Mile took $7.6 milion and passed the $100 million mark. Another debutant Supernova gained $5.7 milion.

Samuel JacksonUnbreakable : Julianne Moore has joined Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable which will be directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense). In the film, Willis plays the sole survivor of a large accident. Jackson's character proposes an explanation of why he survived. Moore plays Willis' wife, a physical therapist. The writer-director described the movie as an old-style suspense movie in which suspense unravels and bizarre things come into play. Thanks "Mike D." for the info.

The Pianist : Roman Polanski is set to adapt and direct the autobiographical bestseller set in Poland during World War II. The film will be about the survival of musician Wladyslaw Szpilman in Warsaw between 1939 and 1945. The story also resembles Polanski's own childhood. Polanski said "For many years I have been encouraged to find a project that relates to my personal history but, until The Pianist, I have never read a piece so moving that I felt I had to bring it to the screen and, in doing so, face again that nightmarish period."
