X-Men
: The second trailer of X-Men
has been released. This one has scenes
of an alley fight between Wolverine and Mystique and also shows each of the main
characters for a few seconds. Four different sized versions are avaiable in the
below link.
Shaft : Samuel L. Jackson, Jeffrey Wright (Basquiat), Christian Bale (American Psycho), and Toni Collette (Sixth Sense) stars in the film. Detective Shaft (Jackson) is trying to catch a murderer (Bale) before he kills the only witness (Collette) of his last crime. Director is John Singleton.
Gladiator
: The final trailer for Ridley Scott's historical epic is also
released. The players are Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Djimon
Hounsou and Connie Nielsen.

Up At The Villa : Kristin Scott Thomas, Sean Penn, Anne Bancroft and Jeremy Davies unites in this Philip Haas drama about an English widower falling in love with an American.

Hanks - Ball : Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Alan Ball will unite for the first time on an untitled drama. Ball who got an Oscar with the script of American Beauty will write a script for Hanks to star in and produce about a Cleveland cop during the early 1960s who tries to solve the murder of a loved one.

Matrix : THR reports that Jet Li may join the two Matrix sequels.
Joel Silver, who worked with Li on Romeo Must Die and produced
the the first movie that grossed $171.3 million domestically, is said to have
given his approval. Although there is no script yet for either sequel, filmmakers
Andy and Larry Wachowski are keen on making a deal. The ony problem seems
to be the budget.
Dust : Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) will star in the indie film Dust for Macedonian writer-director Milcho Manchevski (Before the Rain). Manchevski said the project is "two parallel stories, and the film goes back and forth between them." The first story is a western-style tale based in Turkey about two brothers who are on opposite ends of the law. The second story takes place in New York and centers on a 90-year-old woman and a thief. "One story affects the other," Manchevski said.
The Prisoner : Producer Barry Mendel (The Sixth Sense) will produce The Prisoner with Oscar-winning scribe Chris McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) set to write the screenplay. based on the 1960s cult British TV series which was about a man who found himself trapped in a village where everyone has a number but no name.
From Hell : Heather Graham is in negotiations to star opposite Johnny Depp in From Hell for filmmakers Allen and Albert Hughes. Based on a 10-part series of graphic novels the film centers on Scotland Yard detective Frederick Abberline's (Depp) investigation of the 1880 London killings by Jack the Ripper. Abberline uncovers a vast political conspiracy that extends to the top of the British Empire. Graham would play an Irish prostitute being pursued by the killer.

Wars Episode 2&3 : After the rumors about Leonardo DiCaprio
possibly taking on the role of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episodes 2 & 3,
comes an official statement. While talking to USA Today, DiCaprio's spokesperson
Ken Sunshine revealed, "He met with George Lucas, but he is definitely unavailable."
Heartbreakers : According to The Hollywood Reporter Ray Liotta is set to join Gene Hackman, Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jason Lee in the mob comedy Heartbreakers. David Mirkin (Romy and Michele's High School Reunion) will direct the story about a mother and daughter (Weaver and Hewitt) con artist team that seduces men only to rob them. Liotta will portray a mob hit man who marries Weaver's character and is seduced by her daughter.

Mendes :
Oscar winner Sam Mendes has no desire to make Hollywood his new home.
Mendes infact will go back to English theater and direct Shakespeare's
Twelfth Night. Mendes said:
"If I had signed an exclusive deal with DreamWorks, I could have got millions.
But I am very conscious of allowing myself freedom. I don't desire to become
part of the Hollywood community.''
The Hole : Thora Birch (American Beauty) has agreed to star in The Hole. Set in a British private school, the picture concerns four students whose lives are changed forever during a three-day period without parental supervision, when things go wrong down "the hole". The film will be directed by Nick Hamm ( Daniel and Laurence).
John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars : Ice Cube will play the lead role in John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars, which is scheduled for a June start. A thriller set 174 years in the future, the film concerns human colonists of the Red Planet who must be rescued after becoming possessed by vengeful Martian ghosts.

managed to stay at the top of the box office. This is the first Julia Roberts
starrer since Hook to spend three weeks at No 1. The new Dreamworks animation

Kline lend their voices was second and teen thriller The Skulls
starring Joshua Jackson was close behind. Another debutant was John
Cusack's High Fidelity with $6.4 million gross. After 5 Academy
Awards and a new advertisement campaign, American Beauty raised
%44 of its lasts week gross.

The Shipping News : After wining the Academy Award for American Beauty, Kevin Spacey has committed to star in The Shipping News for Oscar-nominated director Lasse Hallstrom. THR reports that the movie is based on the 1994 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Annie Proulx and centers on a newspaperman who survives an awful marriage to a woman who runs off with his two daughters and sells them into prostitution. The man saves the girls, moves with them to Newfoundland and takes a job writing the shipping news, while slowly discovering his own identity and some dark family secrets.

Tusker
: Jodie Foster
and Morgan Freeman have agreed to voice the animated feature Tusker, which
will be co-directed by Tim Johnson and Brad Lewis, The film is about a herd of
elephants who take a dangerous trek across Southeast Asia, at times meeting up
with poachers. The Oscar-winning actress will voice the role of a young female
elephant, and Freeman will speak for the herd's elder.
Woody Allen : Woody Allen has signed a three-picture distribution deal with DreamWorks, which will include his next three unnamed projects. According to THR Allen will begin production on his next top-secret project this fall. Allen's latest movie Small Time Crooks will be released May 19. It was written and directed by Allen and stars Hugh Grant, Tracey Ullman, Jon Lovitz and Michael Rapaport.
T For Thriller : Dustin Hoffman will star in an English-language thriller which will be directed by veteran French director Claude Lelouch (A Man and a Woman). Lelouch wrote the leading role specifically for Hoffman in what is described as "a love-story thriller" after the two met in Cannes a few years ago. Hoffman agreed to the role after a meeting last month in New York. An American actress is being sought to play opposite Hoffman.
