Gangs of New York : Cameron Diaz is considering to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Gangs of New York, the $80 million-plus Martin Scorsese drama set to begin shooting in Rome in August. Diaz will play the lead female role of Jenny, a street savvy master thief who becomes entangled both professionally and romantically with DiCaprio's character, Amsterdam, a Gotham gangster who organized street gangs in an effort to control the city's street wars between Italian and Irish immigrants. Scorsese is zeroing on his other leads like Liam Neeson and Pete Postlethwaite.

Steven Spielberg : THR reports that Steven Spielberg has been chosen to receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The 10th annual Britannia Award, renamed last year in honor of the late Kubrick, will be presented to Spielberg on Nov. 4 at the Century Plaza Hotel. Previous recipients of the award include John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Martin Scorsese and Michael Caine.

Beyond Borders : Meg Ryan has agreed to star against Kevin Costner in Beyond Borders, directed by Oliver Stone. The story concerns a medical student (Costner) who finds his calling as an international disaster relief worker. When he crosses paths with a well-heeled socialite (Ryan) in a troubled marriage, they begin a long love affair set against the world's various flashpoints.

Michael Clarke DuncanLike Cats and Dogs : Susan Sarandon, Tobey Maguire and Michael Clarke Duncan will lend their voices to animated comedy feature Like Cats and Dogs. Larry Guterman (Antz) will direct the project which is about a young, eager puppy (Maguire) who helps protect a scientist's vaccine for canine allergies that the cats want to destroy. Sarandon will be heard as a wise and worldly dog who looks out for the pup. Duncan was cast as the voice of a big, friendly dog and Joe Pantoliano ) voices the role of a small, hyperkinetic dog who is an electronics expert. Several live-action roles are next to be cast.

Dracula 2000 : Christopher Plummer, will star as London antiques dealer Abraham Van Helsing in Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000. The story centers around Van Helsing who must must travel to America to find his daughter Mary and save her from his longtime nemesis, Dracula, the definitive prince of darkness. Patrick Lussier, editor of Craven's Scream trilogy and Music of the Heart will direct. Wes Craven will serve as a producer.

Glass House : Rita Wilson has joined the cast of Glass House, a thriller starring Diane Lane, Stellan Skarsgard and Leelee Sobieski. The film is about two teenagers taken in by a Malibu couple after their parents are killed in a car accident. The teens soon discover that their new guardians are not what they seem to be -- and may have been behind their parents' murder. The X-Files producer Daniel Sackheim is directing the movie.

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle : The film stars Robert DeNiro, Rene Russo and Jason Alexander. In a world in which cartoon characters actually exist right alongside real people, a talking moose and flying squirrel team up with an FBI agent to stop the evil plans of the Pottsylvanian baddies Boris and Natsha as led by Fearless Leader.

Where The Heart IsWeekend Box Office : Underwater action U-571 managed to stay atop of the box office for its second consecutive weekend. Mark Addy, Kristen Johnson and Stephen Baldwin starrer The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas took the second spot with more than $10 million while Dennis Quaid- James Caviezel starrer thriller Frequency came third. Where The Heart Is which stars a lot of fine actresses like Natalie Portman, Ashley Judd, Sally Field and Joan Cusack grossed $8.3 and finished fourth. The rest of the top ten didn't changed much.
