Boys and Girls : The film stars Freddie Prinze Jr., Jason Biggs and Claire Forlani. Two longtime friends (Prinze, Forlani), start to think maybe they should be dating after a string of failed romances for both.
Good Advice : Denise Richards ( The World Is Not Enough) will star in the romantic comedy Good Advice against Charlie Sheen. The indie movie involves an investment banker who loses everything and must rediscover what's important in life. Richards will play an advice columnist who abandons both her career and the banker when he loses his fortune. Director is Steve Rash.
To End All Wars : Robert Carlyle and Kiefer Sutherland have begun shooting the To End All Wars for director David L. Cunningham. The $12 million indie production is about a group of American prisoners of war building a railway in Burma for their Japanese captors. The cast includes three Japanese stars, Sakae Kimura, Masayuki Yui and Hideo Nakajima, known from films by Akira Kurosawa. n Hawaii.

The Score : Variety reports that Angela Bassett ( Music of the Heart) has agreed to star opposite Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Marlon Brando in The Score. Th film is about a young thief (Norton) who blackmails an old master thief (De Niro) into one last job.
Dare : Director Joel Schumacher has committed to direct Dare, which is an Americanized dramatic version of the 1996 BBC thriller directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love). The drama revolves around a young female lawyer who is reunited with three close friends from her past, one of them her old boyfriend. They charm their way back into her life with tales of the freedom and adventures they undertook in her absence. Unfortunately, the woman slowly comes to realize that this trio is now very dangerous and that she can't get rid of them.
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys : Vincent D'Onofrio and Emile Hirsch have joined Jodie Foster in The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. Set in a school during the 1970s, the indie picture tells the story of several eighth-grade altar boys. Foster will play a nun besides producing the movie. Emile Hirsch (ER) makes his feature debut.

& Jolie : It is reported that Angelina
Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton married
this weekend in Las Vegas. Jolie became the fifth wife of Thornton. The
couple played as as man and wife in the film Pushing Tin, where
they met.
Big Momma'a House : The cast includes Martin Lawrence and Nia Long. When an undercover cop (Lawrence) is sent to Georgia to protect a single mother (Long) and her son, he adopts the identity of a crass heavy-set Southern grandmother known as "Big Momma".

Loser : Jason Biggs, Mena Suvari, Greg Kinnear. A group of dorm roommaters brand the odd guy out a loser (Biggs), and try to get kicked him out. Meanwhile, he's in love with a girl (Suvari) who is more interested in one of her professors (Kinnear).
Shanghai Noon : Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson and Lucy Liu (Payback). An acrobatic member of the Chinese Imperial Guard (Chan) teams up with a rascally train robber (Wilson) to rescue Princess Pei Pei.

Weekend Box Office : Ridley Scott's epic adventure Gladiator starring Russel Crowe grossed $32.7 million and became the second big opening of rhe year 2000 after Scream 3's $34.7 million. The story focuses on the doublecrossed army general Maximus who returns to Rome as a warrior seeking revenge on the Emperor who killed his wife and son. After two weeks atop the box office the submarine actioner U-571 is down to second place. Another debutant was I Dreamed of Africa which was Kim Basingers' first movie since L.A Confidential.

Wars: Episode II :
A number of soursec including Variety is reporting that George Lucas has
choosen Hayden Christensen to play Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars
Episode 2.
Planet of the Apes : 20th Century Fox is in final negotiations with five-time Oscar winner Rick Baker to do the special makeup effects for the big budget remake of Planet of the Apes for director Tim Burton and producer Richard Zanuck. According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting could start in the fall with hopes of releasing the film in summer 2001.
Take Down : Tony Scott (Enemy of the State) will direct Take Down for Disney. The story is about a team of U.S. marshals pursuing a killer who is being protected by another government agency. Variety reports that shooting begins in the late summer, with Jerry Bruckheimer set to produce. No cast is announced yet.
Gemini : Touchstone Pictures is devoloping the sci-fi thriller Gemini on the fast track after several months of developing the project with Disney-owned CGI effects house the Secret Lab. Written by Darren Lemke the story is set 20 years in the future and follows a genetics company that decides its hitman has become obsolete and must be tracked down. The company creates a younger clone of the hitman, who begins tracking down his older self. It is reported that Walt Disney Studios chairman Peter Schneider has taken a personal interest in the project and is looking to cast actors such as Mel Gibson or Harrison Ford.
