D'Artagnan : Gary Oldman is in final negotiations to join a reworked version of the Three Muskateers called D'Artagnan. Besides Oldman, Mena Suvari (American Beauty) and Justin Chambers (Liberty Heights) are also in final negotiations. In this version the story focuses on D'Artagnan, who is on a quest across Europe to avenge his parents' deaths. Peter Hyams (End of Days) will direct with a script by Gene Quintano (Sudden Death).

In Search of the Assassin : Emily Watson will star in the new project by Udwin's Assassin Films called In Search of the Assassin. The film will be directed by Lee Tamahori (Once Were Warriors). The $15 million dramatic adventure tells the true story of a bombing attack in Central America in 1984 and will be shot in Costa Rica and the United Kingdom in November.

Therapy : English tabloid newspaper The Sun reported that former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is to star in a new British film named Therapy. According to the newspaper Halliwell would star as a patient who had an affair with her therapist. The $11 million film, set in London, would be directed by David Green, whose previous credits included Buster starring singer Phil Collins. Halliwell will get reportedly $1.5 million for the part.

Darren Aronofsky : Director Darren Aronofsky and Artisan Entertainment are reteaming on a new, $30 million sci-fi/fantasy that will make as his next film. Aronofsky and Artisan are in Cannes for the official screening of Requiem for A Dream. Aronofsky and Eric Watson are developing the script for the new film, though no details about its story line were available. Artisan president Bill Block said "Darren is one of the most talented young filmmakers around, and his creative vision is indisputably unique."

Easy Rider 2 : Variety reports that plans are underway to make a $30 million sequel to Easy Rider, the iconic 1969 film that starred Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper as two hippies on a motorbike expedition. Principal photography is slated to begin this fall, using many of the locations utilized in the original. Mikki Allen Willis (Shoe Shine Boys) will write and direct. Hopper directed the original film, and cowrote the script with producer Fonda. Jack Nicholson also starred, playing an alcoholic sidekick.

Dirty Dancing 2 : According to Hollywood Reporter Ricky Martin & Natalie Portman are in talks to appear in the sequel to the 1987 hit Dirty Dancing. The movie is being set around a nightclub on Miami's South Beach and will likely go into production sometime next year.

Possession : Gwyneth Paltrow and Ralph Fiennes have committed to star in Possession. The film, is about two academics who, while researching 19th century poet Randolph Ash, stumble upon a love letter written by Ash -- a man believed to be faithfully married -- to a lesser known poet, a chaste spinster. In unearthing the romance, the scholars embark on a journey that challenges their beliefs about themselves.

The 24th Day : Jeremy Davies ( Saving Private Ryan) has joined the cast of The 24th Day. It is a movie adaption of an acclaimed stage play and is being shot on digital video by director Tony Piccirillo. It tells the story of a man who holds a second man hostage because he is convinced that the other gave him HIV - trouble is the second man doesn't remember him since the supposed incident was over six years earlier.

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote : Johnny Depp has formally committed to star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The $32 million picture will be directed by Terry Gilliam. Depp will play a modern-day advertising exec who is whisked back in time to 17th-century Spain where he finds himself mistaken by the eccentric knight Quixote for his sidekick Sancho Panza. Depp's real-life wife, Vanessa Paradis, will provide the love interest.
