Rob is a young fella, a whippersnapper if you will, who's made a career outta romancing the ladies on the small screen. From outta nowhere he was given the green light to star in the USA Network's SILK STALKINGS in its first incarnation. He played detective Chris Lorenzo, a cool cat, who had a crush on his partner played by the lovely Mitzi Kapture. Anyway, these days Estes can be found on MELROSE PLACE. The neat thing about Estes during his SILK STALKINGS years was his attitude and look on the show. Shockingly black spiked hair, and a hip, somewhat chauvinistic a la Joe Bob Briggs attitude, made Rob a treat to watch. Don't get me wrong, Chris Lorenzo was never AS brash as Joe Bob. I'm only watching SILK STALKINGS now for the first time these days, but I was always aware of Rob from the peripheral of my tv viewing ever since he hit the screen. Anyway, to me Rob probably would have made a better Jack Crow in the film version of VAMPIRES, albeit he should be at least 10 years older if he were to adequately fill out the part. He has a strongly chiseled face, can convey emotions better than most actors his age, and is well built, meaning he's no slouch. In any case I think JC would do well to stick Rob in one of his films especially if he feels like rekindling the days of directing a younger Kurt Russell. Rob has movie star looks and often manages to upstage many of the people he shares the screen with, with his wit and dramatic flair. Who knows, maybe in the future when he quits playing the sleazy lover on MELROSE PLACE, he'll find work as a respectable film actor. I think he's more than your average pretty boy actor, I think Rob has some serious potential here. I would love to see JC put Rob and Chris Cornell in the same film. They're two of the coolest cats I've ever seen, Daddy-O.
