Hello,
My name is Matthew Jones. I just saw the page on your site where you listed actors you'd like to see in a John
Carpenter movie. Alot of the ones that you have listed are good suggestions. Well, I thought that I'd send you my
suggestion. You may not have seen him but his name is Clifton Gonzalez Gonzalez (yes, that's two Gonzalezes).
If you have seen the movies "The Stoned Age", "Fortress", or "187" then you know who he is. In "The Stoned
Age", he played Tack. In "Fortress", he played Christopher Lambert's side-kick Nino Gomez. And in "187", he
played Cesar (Mr "I've got one in six chances" and ends up blowing his brains out). He's one of my favorite actors
and I do believe he would be excellent in a John Carpenter movie. Espessially in an adventure/comedy-type movie
like "Big Trouble In Little China". Well, there's my suggestion. Thanks for your time!! - Matthew Jones (Sun, 8 Nov 1998) | |||||||
As far as my actor wish list for a JC movie...Jeffrey Jones, Vincent Schiavelli, John Glover, William Atherton, Ed Begley Jr, Linda Hunt, Glenn Shadix, Yaphet Kotto...etc Alex G. Bowman 1998-10-22 |
I would like to see in Carpenter movie those actors: Uma Thurman, harvey keitel, Ralph Fiennes, Drew Barrymore... A. Bader (Thu, 1 Oct 1998)
here is one more actor on the wish list, johnny depp
i think depp may be bar none the best new generation actor around, he
can do anything, from edward scissorhands to fear and loathing, to the
great film ed wood!!! he can take any character and make it his own.
plus he hasnt really done a horror film yet, besides nightmare on elm
street. i think he may be doing one with roman polanski called the
ninth gate, but im not sure if its a horror film. anyway, depp is my
number 2 vote after downey to be in a carpenter film | thanks a lot and keep up the great work!!!! Brian (Tue, 15 Sep 1998)
oh yeah i have an actor to submit to the jc actor wish list robert downey jr. I think he is a
very underrated actor and has had some great performances in chaplin, less than zero, one night
stand and many other films. he hasnt done a horror movie yet though so maybe carpenter could
give him his first??? maybe in the thing 2??? | alright well thanks for reading Brian (Tue, 08 Sep 1998)
My suggestion for ACTOR-WISH-LIST is Jet Li (Lethal Weapon 4)
or perhaps Jackie Chan. Why? Because JohnC is one of the few
directors out there who likes to use long shots and isn't
prone to excessive cutting, yet still has an interesting
visual style. Which is exactly what is needed to film
the balletic, intricate martial arts moves of Jet
and Jackie. If you need more convincing, just check out
Big Trouble in Little China. The best American-made
Hong-Kong-style movie ever. Then again, I hear Vampires
has rapid-fire cutting and few long shots, so maybe
he's changed into Michael Bay (The Rock, Armageddon), too. :)

Gary Oldman would be great. It's interesting that thing about many actors would like to work with
J.C.Many as he can't imagine | Marco (Fri, 26 Jun 1998)
Here's one that hits me: what do you think Carpenter would do with someone like Nick Nolte? Damn!
There'd be some cool stuff there. | Chris (Sat, 28 Feb 1998)
Hmmm. Russell Crowe, certainly. Ron Perlman could be fun. Be nice to see Jamie Lee again.
Kevin Spacey. I'd have to think about this. | Pete "Aliens VS Predator" Briggs (Thu, 22 Jan 1998) |
