Christopher Lambert was born on March 29th, 1957, in Great Neck,
Long Island. He is the youngest of five children. His father, a
UN diplomat, relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, when Chris was
just two years old. He was educated at boarding schools in
Geneva. Following a play he did at the age of twelve, Chris knew
his direction was in acting. Lambert had a brief career in the
banking and finance industry, at the wish of his father ( or
something like that). Later Lambert enrolled in the
Conservatoire, the National French School of Theatre Arts, and
was kicked out in his third year for cutting classes. Lambert,
later, made a brief return to the Conservatoire . A casting
director noticed him and recommended him for the lead in the epic
American motion picture Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzon, Lord of
the Apes. Lambert won the role and spent the next two and a half
years working on the film. Lambert worked out for 2 hours a day
in the gym. Lambert didn’t speak a word of english and spent 3
hours a day learning it for his role in Greystoke. It is this
role that helped shoot his acting career to the heights it has
reached today. Not only do we see Christopher grow up through
out his acting career, but we also see how his acting talent has
also grown up. He can do more with his voice now than he could
do back then. A good example is Rayden in Mortal Kombat. He
portrays his characters more realisticly, as in you see his
character and not him. I can see how his acting talents have
changed (if you watched as many of his movies as I have you would
know what I mean), for the better. You can tell now that he has
more experience in what he does. His love of acting shows
through not only in him, but also in the work he does. In some
of his roles you can tell he is having way too much fun. He is
lucky to be blessed with a career he loves and succeeds in. His
acting is only getting better, along with his looks.
Christopher Lambert is an actor who believes in making movies
that are pure entertainment, and in living every moment with
passion. He has become active in producing movies, with numerous
projects in acting and producing on the horizon.
Unlike Connor MacLeod, the highlander, Christopher is not
immortal, but very human and mortal, indeed. Perhaps he can’t
answer, “Who dares to live forever...Who dares to love
forever...” but with his unflagging spirit, heart and drive to
act, to enter all the worlds and lives of the imagination, he
dares to dream forever. And in so doing, he gives to others, “a
shining glance of what should be.”
