Avowel.
No, I don't mean what you could buy on Wheel of Fortune. :)
This is one area I'm actually serious about. The Pirate King
is about Tommy Oliver, a character created
from a television show and not a true person.
Jason David Frank is a real person, is married, has a wife and
two children and a life very apart from Tommy Oliver.
In short, he is NOT Tommy Oliver.
Had to make that clear. I think some people blurr that
line a bit. I have nothing but greatest respect for Jason Frank.
I have met him, have talked briefly with him and no
-- I didn't drool on him. I never would do that to him.
Now...if Tommy Oliver showed up by some
miracle of digital enhancement...that's another story!
He isn't married, and he's up for grabs. *grin*
My point is this. Have respect for the actors
and actresses who portray our favorite characters.
They are human beings with lives completely, utterly separate
from the fantasy of Power Rangers.
You must respect that, and allow them privacy.
They deserve that, and don't owe us a thing.
They gave us the characters we love so much. I think that's enough.
It's about respect.
I do respect Jason David Frank a great deal. Not only as an actor,
but moreso as a Martial Artist who has great integrity, character and
as a Sensei who desires to teach children and adults
the true Martial Arts. It is about more than punches, kicks and flips.
Much more. It's about respect, regardless of age, race or religion.
It's something we've almost lost here in the US.
"Treat others the way you would like to be treated."
Remember those words? I had them drilled into my head as a kid.
Good words to strive to live by. Here's something else to think about:
If a child lives with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, they learn violence.
If a child lives with ridicule, they learn to be shy.
If a child lives with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If a child lives with praise, they learn to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, they learn faith.
If a child lives with security, they learn trust.
If a child lives with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,
they learn to love the world.
Anyone who knows me, knows I adore having fun.
I am a bit nutbar, BUT... I have definite lines I don't cross.
That's why I decided to put this up. So you know
where I stand. And no...these things are not up for debate.
Not in my world. This is how I try to live.
Obviously I don't always succeed. I'm human, I make mistakes.
In striving for better, we can become better.
Have fun, laugh, love, spread light...and respect other people.
Pretty simple, huh? Sometimes very young children are the wisest...
