Fay Wray —  King Kong  IMDb info
"It was Beauty...
that killed the Beast."

IMHO, the 1933 King Kong is easily one of the 100 greatest films ever made ...& has there ever been a more exquisite damsel than Ann Darrow (Fay)? {sigh©}  If you've never seen the original Kong (or haven't seen it in a while) get hold of one of the digitally remastered tapes (laser disc, DVD), clear your mind of all thoughts of the countless direct & indirect imitations that have followed, pop some corn, unplug the phone, hit the play button, ... & enter a world where the South Pacific is nearly as remote & exotic as Barsoom.

Okay, there's no gag.  There doesn't always have to be a gag.
''Why... *you're* not Lionel Atwill!''

"Such a nice evening!"

"MMMPFH!"

"Look guys,..."

"...I'm really flattered..."

"...& everything, but..."

"...I don't do..."

"...blind dates."

[Just like in restaurants,...]
[...for dating services, presentation is very important!]
"(Well, he's late. ...He's very late.  Guess I'll just...)"

"(...hang out for awhile.)"

{thud, rumble, crash}

"Hi! What's yer sign?"

[Here's the wind-up...]

[...&...]

"AHHHHHHHH!!!"

"A soprano! Thanks guys!"

"NO!!!—Size does matter!"

There's just one nagging question: The ancestors of the Skull Island natives built the HUGE stone wall across the isthmus to keep the HUGE monsters like Kong & the dinosaurs out of the village, right?  So why did they include a HUGE wooden gate?  They thought that maybe someday they might want to invite the monsters inside???  It must be one of those weird, ethno-religious things, like the Melanesian cargo cults, Easter Island statue building, or the Southern Baptists' Disney boycott. J
Supposedly there's yet ANOTHER King Kong remake working it's way out of development hell.  I don't think a single De Laurentiis is involved in the project, so maybe they'll do it justice this time.

Meanwhile, back at the DiDcaps...
