Brief Character History: Ricardo almost got caught up in a fling with Gabi before he found out she was Paula’s sister. When Paula found out about it, she left Ricardo and broke his heart.Since Ricardo is a police detective, he had to turn in Paula’s mother, Elaine Stevens, for the murder of Del Douglas which also caused hard feelings with Paula. Later, Paula found out from Gabi that Ricardo had been cheating on her with another woman the night they were going to elope. Paula eventually found out that the other woman was Gabi. After a long period of disagreements and difficulties, Paula ended up leaving town. Gabi felt it was all her fault. Ricardo can not get rid of his hidden feelings for Gabi.
Ricardo's biggest enemy is Ben Evans. Ricardo can not get over the feeling that his sister's death was not an accident and Ben murdered her.
Ricardo's brother Antonio came back to Sunset Beach and they are both spending a lot of time with Gabi. Ricardo has strong feelings for Gabi and wants their relationship to move forward.
