Sandrine's new film, 1999

by Dallas, Wed, 15 July, 1998 02:09:59 EDT

1999 was actually my favorite of the L.A. Independant Film Festival. The basic story is set in a New Year's Party in 1999 in a brownstone in New York. Sandrine plays Suki (I think that was the name), a performance artist and good friend of the party's host. She looks great in every scene and does a fine job (as does the rest of the cast) but she's only a featured performer (not the lead) and there's not near enough screen time. It's a very wry, smart, literate movie but it could've certainly used more Sandrine.

I had never even heard of her before but after the screening, we were invited into another room where the director would answer questions and we were told that some of the cast would be there. I about broke my neck to get to the room to see if Sandrine would stop by but she didn't. Still, I enjoyed the film.
