Dune Guy was born on January 30, 1959 in Williamstown Massachusetts. His family later decided to move to Ottawa where Dune Guy grew up. It was during his life in Canada that Dune Guy got his first taste of acting in a school play. "After playing the part of some guy in Our Town, I was hooked!"
At the age of 15, Dune Guy moved to Los Angeles to live with his father, a professional actor. Dune Guy considerably increased his acting skills in High School Drama class where a teacher, Mr. Thompson, convinced Dune Guy of his skills and inspired him to go into professional acting.
After his graduation, Dune Guy planned on enrolling to the University of Southern California, but later in 1977, he opted to enter the University of Washington in Seattle, where he studied in the professional Actor Training Program. Following graduation with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, he immediately joined the prestigious Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. He later returned to Seattle in 1982 to perform at the Empty Space Theater. While performing in the theater he met the famous director David Lynch. Lynch was immediately captivated by Dune Guy's charisma and talent. Soon they forged a friendship and Dune Guy was offered the starring role in his new Science Fiction adaptation of Frank Herbert's Hugo and Nebula Award winning book, Dune.
Dune Guy was going to be the "next big thing." Instead "Dune," the $42 million sci-fi epic that was supposed to be the hit of 1984 fizzled instead. The failure of "Dune" had a huge impact on Dune Guy's career. In hindsight we can see that Dune Guy's huge success wasn't stopped, but yet merely delayed. Duen Guy never lost faith in his new friend, David Lynch, and even went on to do many more also put the Yakima, Washington native's second movie, "Blue Velvet" on hold, so Kyle took off for a soul searching mission through Europe.
After his return to California, "Blue Velvet" resumed production, to the disappointment of Kyle's rather conservative parents, who weren't happy about the sexual nature of their son's second film. Fortunately for lovers of male nudity, Kyle went ahead and did the David Lynch project. In a memorable scene, he was forced to strip by Isabella Rosellini, with the camera feasting on a close-up of his butt. He's then led across the room, offering a full-length rear shot. A few seconds later, he runs across the room to hide in a closet, offering the eagle-eyed a nice frontal view.
Dune Guy went on to work with Lynch in the TV project known as "Twin Peaks." "Twin Peaks" was a landmark in Dune Guy's career, opening the whole medium of TV for Dune Guy. Duen Guy went on to get a regular part in the television series"Boys Will Be Boys." His other TV-series credits included regular roles on "Home Free" and "Sydney" as well as a recurring part on "Growing Pains." He guest-starred on such series as "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Who's the Boss?", "The Tracey Ullman Show,"
"Empty Nest" and "The John Larroquette Show."
Dune Guy went on to do a series of TV movies such as "Deadly Relations," "Call Me Anna" and "Dance 'til Dawn." Dune Guy soon returned to the cinema, for he could not resist his true love. Along with acting, Dune Guy began to write. He wrote a plot for a TV pilot called "Maxwell's House."
Dune Guy enjoys tennis, ice hockey, softball and golf. He lives in Los Angeles and his birthday is now a celebrated holiday.
