Ralph  Winter Chat - Update
July 29

had the opportunity  to ask two questions to Ralph,

The first one was " which was his favorite effect from the movie"

He told that his favorite was when Xavier is searching Rogue by

Cerebro. And the other question that I asked was: "What

Characters where in the movie, such as ice-man . He told

nothing new.

UPDATE - More about the Ralph Winter Chat. During the

Chat he confirmed that Beast was in the script of X-Men 1

But they remove him because they couldn't afford him.

The reasons: "We introduce 10 characters, which is a

daunting task, with Mystique's eight hours of makeup, to have

another makeup job like Beast was too much to work with.

So he might see Beast in the next movie!

He also said that in the next movie he might not be avaible

because he is going to produce Tim Nurtonīs Planet of Apes.

Another interesting thing that he told, is that if they do a sequel

it might be avaible for the next year? but that is not all! he also

told that if  the movie is ready for the next year fox would need

to balance the movies, because of episode 2??? that's strange!

Because the premiere of Star Wars is in the year 2002!!!

Stan Lee makes fun of the Sequel
July 27

The Creator of the X-Men Comic book, Stan lee makes fun about the

sequel at his website! He has this new video where he talks to Bryan Singer

about the possibility to make the hotdog man, who   appears in  the movie, to

make him the bad a guy of the next movie! Here is his actually words:

-" I hope we will do better than ... You know  we will do... The guy behind the

hotdog stand from x-men 1, suddenly develops a mutant  power and can perhaps  on x-men 2, Perhaps  is the main villain or something..."

Download the video here!

Patrick Stewart
July 27

During an interview Patrick Stewart admitted that all the characters are in the next movie, and he confirmed the return of the bad guys!

-"Yeah. None of those guys were wiped out. The only person we lost was Senator Kelly. Bruce Davison tried to persuade the director, when he dissolved into fluid, to shoot the fluid going down a special drain so that he could be re-constituted. But of course he still exists because Mystique can take on his form."

Thanks to filmforce for the interview

      X-again-eh?

By BOB THOMPSON -- Toronto Sun

TORONTO -- X-Men is doing big box-office, which is a relief for all those involved. What does that mean? X-Men, the sequel, has an all-systems go.

Pre-production is already in over-drive, in fact, and that means the producers are crunching the numbers and wondering where they should shoot.

Maybe Toronto again. Maybe not. Vancouver is getting a good look, for a few reasons. It's closer to L.A., and some of the soundstages are bigger than those available here. Special effects films like X-Men tend to need bigger soundstages.

Time and economics will tell. If the X-Men sequel does head for Vancouver, the local film industry might want to step up its proposal for a big state-of-the-art soundstage.

Montreal politicos and business types have alredy commissioned a study into the feasibility of constructing one.

Thanks to Ryan for the note!

Anna Paquin as Rogue in the next X-movie !

July 27

During a chat at the official site we got some info. about Roque

in the next sequel, check out the most revelant parts:

-Will Rogue have more control of her powers in the sequels?

"I`m assuming as Rogue gets older, and the X-Men movies progress, that she`ll be being trained and will have more control. Though I`m not sure what she can do. If she touches someone, it happens. She`ll just probably be more efficient in using them, I guess."

-Will Rogue fly in future films?

"I hope so. The flying harnesses look fun. I haven`t seen the script for the sequel yet, so I`m not the person to ask."

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos Joins the Cast of Rollerball
July 27

According to a report in today's Variety, supermodel Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (currently making a big impression as Mystique in X-Men) has been cast alongside Chris Klein, LL Cool J, and Jean Reno in John McTiernan's remake of Rollerball. The report went on to state that Romijn-Stamos "tested for the role only last weekend, following screen tests for a few other last-minute candidates as producers struggled to fill the film's last major role." Rollerball begins shooting today, July 26, in Montreal and is scheduled for a summer 2001 release by MGM. Be sure to check out Stax's recent Rollerball report for the low-down on the project.

X-Trilogy?

July 19

According to several rumors on the net, said that a sequel is

coming! but not only 1 sequel! there will be 2 sequels!

Here is an article found in Jam! X-Men

With "The X-Men" X-terminating the box office competition comes word that a sequel -- or sequels -- will definitely materialize.

The Dark Horizons movie website has been tracking the "X-Men 2" news and says producer Tom De Santo revealed the cast are committed to a second film, but he and director Bryan Singer are not. Patrick Stewart, who plays the super heroes' mastermind, Professor X, told CNN the cast is committed to at least one other film.

As far as plotting goes for the next in the series, longtime fans of the X-Men comic know that the film introduced only a handful of the full compliment of mutant heroes, and subsequent sequels could draft in a whole new cast of characters -- Nightcrawler, The Beast, Colossus, Iceman, etc.

High on the wishlist of "X-Men" devotees: The introduction of the turbo-charged mutant-hunting robots the Sentinels, and a big-screen rendition of the reverred Dark Phoenix saga -- which would see Famke Janssen's character Jean Grey battling to control her own burgeoning powers.

X-Men-Home hopes as you, that more movies will be made!

Reviews!

July 16

Well, here's a few reviews I've received from some people about X-men the movie:

I was not pleased upon hearing that Rogue would be a teenager and over half the X Men would not even be in the movie, and I was expecting a cheesy, stupid summer movie.  However, I was most fortunately mistaken! The actors were great (except Halle needs to work on her Storm accent) and I was very pleased to see that the film was indeed worthy of the comic.  However, I expect the sequel to have more X Men in it, preferably Gambit and the Beast.  But all in all, the movie was not only quite enjoyable, but really exciting and fun, and even worth seeing again! - This review's from "Tara Brown"

Short and sweet, the X-Men movie rocks.... A nagging aching itch has been finally scratched with none other than Adamantium Claws. Hats off to everyone who laid a hand on this movie production. It isn't fair that we have to wait another 2 years for another spectacular X-Men film though. The sequel, in my opinion, should have Colossus, Angel, Gambit and the remaining cast from this one. Brilliant just brilliant! Out. - From "Soulreaver"

Hey! I just watched X-men today. I think the movie is a sure hit. About Rogue though, they gave her a name in the movie. Her alias was supposed to be unknown. I think they made a mistake there, otherwise... the movie is FANTASTIC! LOVED IT! - This one's from "Ver Ver"

Watched the movie? Want to send a review? Mail me here!

And to all you pessimistic people who thought it'd be a funk: HAH! Told you it would be good!

Interview with Gordon Smith on Wolverine's Claws!

July 12

Gordon Smith, makeup supervisor for the X-Men movie, told ComicsContinuum that safety concerns were prominent of making the claws for Wolverine.

"The biggest challenge was to give the actor nine-inch blades, three on each hand, and make it so that it was safe for him and the people around him," Smith said. "They all wanted him to wear real metal blades, and I refuse to give him real metal blades. For the same reason that if you're in the kitchen and somebody picks up a knife and decides to pass from one side of the kitchen to the other side of the kitchen with that knife in their hands, people generally clear out of their way.

Mail circulating around...

July 7

For those of you who subscribed to the X-Men Movie Newsletter from the official site, you may have received a few umm... strange letters from some weirdo 'Mutant group' defacing Senator Kelly's site, 'Senator Kelly' himself who takes this opportunity to shoot the mutants down with his preaching, and 'Professor Xavier' who apologizes on the behalf of all mutants. (Rather amusing I must say...)
