The Best Films of 1998

Hello all, and welcome to my section on the best films of 1998. Films released from January 1^st 1998 to December 31^st 1998 in the United States are eligible for qualifications in this list (this explains why Life is Beautiful and Spiceworld are on the list, although they were both released to foreign markets in 1997). Each film in the list has its own link to a short explanation as to why I chose the film.

1998 was an interesting year for cinema, one that had its share of mainstream fare and its group of soon-to-be cult favorites. This list is only a representation of what I’ve seen from 1998. I’m sure that Saving Private Ryan was a great film, but I haven’t seen it yet, so who am I to judge it?
