When you’re feeling sad and low, they will take you where you wanna go! The Spice Girls made their film debut this year and the reason that it made #5 on this list is that Spiceworld was way better than it possibly should have been. The girls show real intelligence by hiring excellent writers for their film. The screenplay for this film is crisp, self-mocking and very campy, just what the girls needed for a film debut. They are not given anything truly emotional to do, which is just fine, because I doubt they’d be able to handle it. What we do get though is a film with great zeal and aesthetic appeal. The "Spicebus" is one of the most creative sets I’ve seen in a long time.

The girls also surround themselves with top-notch character actors and celebrity cameos that make the movie the joy that it is. Richard E. Grant is brilliant as usual as the Spice Girls’ assistant, Clifford. Rocky Horror alumni Meatloaf and Richard O’Brien (my most favorite actor) have roles in the film, making it especially meaningful for me. Roger Moore is absolutely hysterical as the Girls’ boss. Cameos include Elton John, Shock Treatment cast member Barry Humphries, and fab Cabaret cast member Alan Cumming.
