The gross out comedy There’s Something About Mary gave us something unexpected from such juvenile fare: a really well made movie! Mary dares to push the comedy one step further than expected, like in the infamous zipper scene. With one scenario after another of utter puerile hilarity presented in a fashion that was not really derogatory to any of the characters in the film, what wasn’t there to like in this fun farce? I was impressed as always with Ben Stiller’s performance as the guy who just can’t get Mary out of his head and Diaz is at her cutie-pie best as Mary herself. Matt Dillon puts in a great performance as a sleazy private eye. Chris Elliot rounds out the fine cast as Stiller’s nebbish friend.

There’s Something About Mary brings the comedy previously only experienced in such stupid movies as Squeeze Play to a mainstream audience in fine form.
