In high school Rachel was one of Monica’s closest friends. Like most friendships, they parted in ways. When Rachel arrived on the show, she had just walked out on her wedding day. She had managed to snag a job at Central Perk and arrange to room with Monica. She even decided she didn’t need her parents help and cut up her credit cards.    To most she seems spoiled. It’s not really that. It’s just the way she was raised. She was an only child and her parents were rich.  So she received a lot of money to spend.

   Rachel is ultra sensitive. One time while throwing out the pizza the landlord yelled at her. She returned to her apartment crying. (I would like to say in her defense, he was big and guys shouldn’t yell at girls!)

   Rachel’s first job was at Central Perk, as a waitress. She wasn’t the best. She often screwed up the orders. She finally decided to seek higher job opportunities. She then worked as an assistant. When she finally thought she would be promoted, her boss was hit by a bus before she passed the word on. Rachel was stuck. What’s worse is she was demoted.
