| Superstar Valentines...Devon Sawa | |||||
| If you've been considering placing a personal ad that reads "Desperately Seeking Sawa," fear not: Dreamy Devon will soon be burning up the screen in A Cool Dry Place, costarring Vince Vaughn. Devon plays the kid brother of Vince's love interest - an intense dramatic role that is really helping him strengthen his acting drops. So don't expect the same Devon you got to know from films like Casper and Now and Then. "It took a long time working up to where I am now, a lot of crappy commercials and a lot of hard training, theater, stuff like that," The nineteen year old Vancouver, Canada, native says. "I want to be known as an actor, not a heartthrob. I don't want to be cast in a movie just because someone likes my looks, but because I have a craft." |

| Well, master thespian that he may be, Devon's definitely achieved heartthrob status. Throngs of girls mobbed him at the New York premiere of last summer's bro-bonding adventure flick Wild America, and he receives thousands of fan letters a week. Still, Devon doesn't see himself as drool worthy. In fact, he's pretty self concious about his looks. "I honestly always pick at myself about my neck and chicken legs," he admits. "I always finds something wrong with me. I worry more about how I am going to look in the future, if my nose is going to grow ten feet long." That hardly seems likely. But whether he stays a babe or not, Devon's dream girl had better not place too much importance on looks - his or her own. Though Devon's a bit too busy to focus on love these days, he has a few ideas about what he wants in a girl. "She's gotta be down to earth, she's gotta be natural." he says. "Some girls are always looking in the mirror - I hate that." |
