Block 1138 #51
Heres some episode 2 news. As usual its from www.aint-it-cool-news.com
Episode 2: Things in Australia are already in progress ( plans, sets,
props, scouting for external scenes). The majority of work will be done
in Australia. Other Important locations have not been determined yet.
Casting: Things are moving smoothly as well. The Older Anakin's quest
is not finished yet. The Casting for Anakin will surprised a lotta
people. They are not searching for what you may think they are. They
are also searching for another young male actor. There's many new
characters in Episode 2. However, Lucasfilm's not searching for all the
big guns in Hollywood. I've heard many big names, but the only big
names that I've heard more than once is Gabriel Byrne, but he has not
been casted yet and there's no REAL hard facts leading me to think that
he will. However, I've heard his name.
Now, I know that many people on the net are interested in only one
thing. Who will play Boba Fett's part. First, Fett is in Episode 2 and
3. Bulloch is not considered for the part at this moment. Anyway,
Bulloch's pushing Lucasfilm to cast his 20 years old son for the role
of Boba Fett. But, words from the Oval Office at Lucasfilm reports that
Lucas, has every plans to cast a (well ?)-known actor for the part of
Fett. Maybe Byrne, maybe not.
I don't know much of the story at this point, only that Episode 2includes:
-The Clone Wars -Anakin's wedding (in strange circumstances, I've been told)
-The Feel of Episode 2, is a lot like Episode 5, but still much moredarker.
-Jar Jar is in Episode 2-3 at this point. Jar Jar is expected to be
much more important (like Chewie in Episodes 5-6)
-The Transformation of Anakin Skywalker The Jedi into Anakin Skywalker,
The Jedi Master.-The Identity of the Future Emperor Neil

From: soul_lxiv@hotmail.com Hi everyone:
Thanks for that "short post" rascuniverse. It was very insightfull.
Its kind of frustrating imagining that day in 2005 exitung the movie
house knowing: "This was the last one and nothing new from Star Wars
will come ever." I cry by just imagining it!!!!!!!!!! :(
And I guess our heroes wont die in the books any time soon. They're
only 40 years old in the books and, believe me, when Luke becomes old
the story will find some silly excuse to make him inmortal because of
his bond with the Force. Too, we actually dont know whats the average
longevity of the humans in this far away galaxy.Well thats all.
May the Force be with you,Soul

I think I explained in my firt couple of posts that I'm Puerto Rican,
and that my natural language is Spanish, and even thou I know a lot of
english, I am lacking of fluency and a lot of details. I know that some
times there are really big typos, but I ask for your forgiveness!
This doesn't mean, I was offended by Knipy's comment!
No! It's cool! when I read my posts in the next Holo Blocks I laugh a
lot about the disasters I wrote, and say to my self "gosh, how could I
passed that one!
[Glad you took it in the good humour that it was meant to be. Im
English and I need a English teacher myself]
And, I am open to critics too, so when I spell something wrong, anybody
can point it out, that way I'll learn the right way to communicate in english!
So, this clear, lets go to bussiness! In last Block I said:
>Oh. . . just, Lord, please, Kill all the Burtons, and the
>Shumackchers before that age so that they don't screw it up likeBatman.
Knipy comments:
>[Now i dont want this conversation to continue over this point but
>didnt Burton resserect Batman?? I think he did]
Yes, Burton brought Batman back, and Joel Shumachker. . . whatever, took
the wheels and kept the race. I was never satisfied with how Burton
treat the character! The first one was OK, and even so the 2nd wasgood,
I didn't feel as a Batman adventure!
I kind of like more Joel's style, specialy in Batman and Robin, but
still I hope they are dead when Time comes to remake Star Wars!
Knipy made a comment also:
>[I was thinking though....If their isnt going to be a third trilogy
>does that mean the future adventures are down to the books and comics. I
>know the litriture goes well into the future but will we eventuallysee
>the death of the main charecters in a book. I have a feeling thatwont
>happen for a long time....if ever]
I can live with the novels, thinking that they are the actual sequels
for Star Wars. For this point is cool so this way we can be positive to
believe the story after the Empire.
So far they have gone 20 years after Return of the Jedi, and everybody
is still alive. I think the time will come, as happened to Superman,
that they have to die, but in this case, a whole new legion of Jediwill
be left alive. The Twins, Jaicen and Jaina, and Anakin, plus all their
friend Jedis, and all the rest of Luke's students from the Academy. So,
we can rest sure that we, the Novels readers will be reading a lotabout
Luke, Han, and Leia for a long time. . .
Still this doesn't compensate the visual pleasure of seing them in a movie.
Maybe they will come up with a TV Series, following the Novels!
That might be cool! Having a weekly series, after 2005, telling the
story of the Novels after the Return of the Jedi!
There is still hope! Lets keep it on!

Just a short post: [well maybe it was going to be when you startedit.....]
Master George was in Entertainment Tonight and he said that the next
Episode I trailes will be released in March.
Also, is official that there won't be Episodes 7,8 & 9.
Master George confessed that he didn't have any story for them and that
when you look at the six films, they tell a complete story!
So, Star Wars will be over in the year 2005, as he said in the inteview.
Now, I have a fear. Ever since I have memory, I have lived in a Star
Wars hope enviroment. I was 3 when I saw a New Hope, and 5 when I saw
The Empire, and 8 when I saw Return. And since then I have been living
my life, believeing and influenced by the force. Always sure that there
will be another movie, alway happy to explain other people that Star
Wars started from Episode IV, and that Lucas was going to release the
first three soon, and then he will do three sequels to the first Three
(IV, V, VI).so, now I have 24 years old and Star Wars has been in my horizon
always. So, how is it going to be the day I see Episode III, and then I realize
that there will not be a next mistery. What am I going to do when weget
to the moment when we realize that there won't be anything else to hope
for, or to imagine what is going to be about.
I mean, we were imagining the first three episodes since 1983, and we
want to see if what whe imagined is what Master George had in mind. ..
This is very stressy!
People talk about the Year 2000 crisis. . . How about the Star Wars
Crisis? At least we know there is a big chance that there will be a
January 1st, 2000, but there won't be any Star Wars movie after theyear 2005.
I need a psicologyst! [No..You need a English Teacher ;) ]
oh wait. . . yeah . . . Can you imagine, us, in the year 2060 seing a
remake of the classic epic Star Wars first released a long time ago,
last century in 1977? Yeah. . . That's something to hope for!
Oh. . . just, Lord, please, Kill all the Burtons, and the Shumackchers
before that age so that they don't screw it up like Batman. When tha
time comes for a young director and producer from Twenty First Century
Fox to make Star Wars Episode IV. . . make sure is four -- to start as
the legend started! Please don't brake up time!
---- make this directos and producers smarts, and to love art, and not
fill it up with a bunch of special effects, and loosing the story!
[Now i dont want this conversation to continue over this point but
didnt Burton resserect Batman?? I think he did] i don't know what to expect!
I just know that it will be a very dark day, when Episode III finish,
and I walk out the theater know it that it was the last original Star
Wars adventure to see!
[I was thinking though....If their isnt going to be a third trilogy
does that mean the future adventures are down to the books and comics.
I know the litriture goes well into the future but will we eventually
see the death of the main charecters in a book. I have a feeling that
wont happen for a long time....if ever]Cry!
I promesed to be short, so, i won't take any long!
Bye, and may the force be with us, for ever, even withoud the sequels,
after 2005!

Heres some more news from the excellent aint it cool news website.
Warning it does cotain some possible spoilers. It was wrote by a movie
spy called Mr. Day, judge for yourself wether its real or not.
I work for a (BLANKED) company that does tons of contract work for
Hollywood films, tv shows, commercials and for the music industry as
well as tons of stuff for regular folks and businesses. We are one of
the bigger ones in the world with offices in (DELETED... IT'S JUST
ABOUT EVERYWHERE IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE).
Today my boss called a special "closed doors" meeting and read us the
riot act about confidentiality, the need for secrecy, etc. This happens
a lot with some clients who want their particular ad campaign to be a
total surprise and splash in the industry - so basically it was nothing
new. Car companies, Nike, and soft drink people routinely do this so
they can surprise the competition and maximize their ad campaign's
impact on everyone.
Anyways today's meeting was different. Four guys from LucasFilm came in
(all no nonsense types) with lots of Star Wars Episode One stuff. It
appears THE CORPORATION has landed a VERY lucrative (and cool) campaign
for the next Star Wars film. They (the LucasFilm people) brought
several hundred stills of the movie, its characters, story boards of
the action sequences, pictures of props, sets (including stuff that is
obviously computer generated) and TWENTY-EIGHT MINUTES OF THE FILM!!!
One of the more interesting things is that the LucasFilm guys said that
any preliminary/design/layout work we do right now should avoid using
"The Phantom Menace". Mr Bigg asked why and the LucasFilm guys said
that George is apparently rethinking the title idea and will decide in
the NEXT TWO WEEKS if it will change or not (most likely not everyone
there thinks). They really stressed that the title won't change as so
many people know it by that title, but apparently Lucas has always
thought that something else might be better. It seems a lot of
companies are pushing for the final title so they can get moving on
stuff. LucasFilm wants a strict continuity and cohesion to all the
products and ALL of them must be approved by Lucas himself it seems,
hence we have to move fast on some things (apparently he will be very
busy in the coming months doing all the approval stuff).
THE VIDEO FOOTAGE...(It seemed to be of the desert planet from the
first Star Wars where Luke lives, a big space ship, a jungle, a space
battle which was differnet from the death star and swamp planet and
then a big city that looks amazing.) Lots of the footage was in the
desert and there was some cool stuff (ceremonies and political
goings-ons in the city area).
I suspect that this footage will be in the movie since I saw the
Trainspotting guy (who seems to be really good), Liam Neeson from
Schindler's List is a Obi-One jedi, a kid who was in a lot of the
footage, a jedi sword fight, Yoda, a Queen, Samuel Jackson and a
Senator giving a speech of some kind. There is also a character, JAR
JAR, which is a computer character who is in some of the scenes. He
seems to be the funny character.
They also gave us a sheet of spelling of characters and places (there
are lots). I haven't seen the commercial for the movie yet, but the
half hour footage we saw was amazing. I think the movie will be the
biggest of them all. The stuff we saw makes it seem grander, darker and
more intense then the original Star Wars movies. From what we could
tell it seems as if one of the characters will die in the movie,
although the footage we saw didn't say that, you get the feeling from
some of the dialogue that there is a noble sacrifice of some kind and
someone (of the good guys) will die. Unfortuately we couldn't keep the
footage. It was designed to give us a sense of the film and to help
visualize and conceptualize our ideas. All the photos and stuff were
coded and were locked in our vault after the meeting. We risk losing
the contract if anything goes missing.
We are now doing preliminary stuff using STAR WARS: EPISODE ONE and
PHANTOM MENACE just in case. Again, we were stressed that the title
might change, but won't. They showed us some of the early posters that
are in movie theaters and they didn't have any title at all except Star
Wars: Episode 1. One team is working on doing something on a character
named Darth Sidious, Jar Jar and on a character named Darth Maul.
Another team is working on Obi-Wan, Qui-something, and Yoda. And
another on all the aliens and robots. I was not the biggest Star Wars
fan as a kid, but I have to say this is really exciting.
And now another comment from someone who has "aparrently" read the
script. Again, belive it or not...its up to you. This was wrote by
MTFBWYA@hotmail.com
Yes, they are back on Tatooine in the first episode, but for a reason
that makes it believable, not because it's the 'center of the
universe.' Yes, the cryptic reference to the 'Eopie' in Vanity Fair was
a nice bone to toss out, but realizing Lucas envisioned them as
"camel-like" and "strange" creatures makes my imagination roar, much
less the fact that they pull the most of pods into place for the start
of the race. I never expected this kind of storytelling, or ever
imagined this in a million years. And it has been worth the wait, let
me reassure you. If the movie is half as good as the script, we are in
for a treat. Neil

If you had read the Star Wars history properly, you would find that
Captain Antilles was their last master before Luke and that the droids
had, had lots of masters from all over the galaxy before they even met
Captain Antilles, also a lot of the time they worked on their own aswell.
As for the R2 D2 issue it is obvious Obi-Wan had met him before, so I
think now the issue should be left alone.

Just skimming through the tv guide, and theres a small article, so
anyway here it is: 'Star Wars cut into six parts,
There's good news and bad news for star wars fans. On May 21, part 1
of the new star wars trilogy will be released worldwide. But creator
George Lucas has now confessed that this will be the forth of only six
parts in total, not nine as his previous plan. "When you see it in six
parts, you'll understand it really ends at part six." Lucas said in a
recent interview, confirming that Return of the Jedi would remain the
last instalment of the franchise and part two and part three will be
released in 2002 and 2005 respectively. " I never had a story for the
later ones and to do another trilogy , at this point, would take 10
more years at my age."' Most of that is common knoweledge, but there you go.

Ok. I've been out for a little while and reading last five Blocks I see
there is still an issue about Ben owing R2 and then don't remember
owing
it!
they way a see it, and I got it from the Novels, is that Ben didn't
owned the droids, but Anakin did. I think Ben saw something familiar
out
of R2 from a shy look y took, so I think he could have remember the
droid. Also, the droids didn't remember him, because droids memory are
erased periodically as a protocol, according to Heir to the Empire.
Luke
Skywalker ask to make an exception with R2 and C3PO.
Also, I find it logic to erase their memories! Just think about it! R2
rolling in the Death Star, seing Darth Vader, his former master, and
then Luke is coming. Is like yeiling "He is your father!"
I think their mamories were erased to cover the truth, so that there
weren't any chances for Luke to find out about his father until after
his trainning.
As for how Leia Knew Ben was in Tatooine, well, her foster father told
her to ask help to Ben in Tatooine if she ever needed help. remember
that this guy, Mr. Organa must have know Ben when they split the kids,
and was part of the plan to join them later in the future to strike the
Dark Side, so Ben stay in Tatooine to exhile for his failure on Anakin,
and to look after Luke's well being!
Which can be explained to the coincidence that Ben was walking around
when Luke was attacked by the Sandpeople. I think he was tracking him
somehow, waiting for the right moment to tell him about his destiny.
Somebody made a comment about disliking the Ewoks! if you have some
kinf
of problem with them, take it someplace else. Ewoks are part of the
Star
Wars legend, such as the Classic yop yop ending from the original
Retunr
