Just an idea for the mailing list. How about a Trivia
question once and a while.
[There will be a Trivia section on our website when our heroic genius
Howie manages to work it all out. Hows it coming along Howie]
For all you Star Wars action figure
collectors, I recently saw a whole shipment of the new slave Chewbaccas
being recalled from WalMart. I wish I could've got my hands on them,
because they were all cross-eyed! Has anybody else seen any anywhere
else? The had huge black marker crosses through them so they probably
have a high price tag. Empire and N.R. truce?! Those Imperials had a
better chance fighting to have sunk to the N.R.s level!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: rascuniverse@hotmail.com Great! We are getting somewhere!
I agree! If there is a TV series, it should be a LucasFilms production.
Even if Master George isn't the director, he has to approve everything
to go long with his vision. And the series should star after 2010, or
something, just to let the movies cool out!
I guess not everybody agree with me, but, if George changed the way
people view sci fi movies over 20 years ago, maybe he can change theway
we see at sci fi TV Serials, with Star Wars.
And even thou Knipy explained about the Members posts, I'm glad this
time there were a couple of more than usual. This is not a critic. Just
glad to hear other peoples opinions, because this is what this is all about.
Peace and Love Soul. Thankx Atonia for your support! Lets cool things
out. I know I was out of line, but lets make an effort to hold out emotions.
Ok, there was a horrible rumor about Episode I being pulled back to
July, but this is all cleared and was a false rumor. Somebody was just
making a Bad Joke to us! The Schedule stays as always. May 21st, 1999.
Oh brother, I can't wait to be there.
Oh, yeah, I feel for all of you that doesn't live in the US region. . .
you are gonna have to wait longer than us. Sorry!
Is there any chance that we are going to here tha guy who did Vaders

made them and thanks for mentioning them because I've had a shitty day. I
do though have a theory for those who are already upset the star wars
trilogy will be over in the year 2005. That's two years before the
thirtieth anniversary of "Star Wars". This is only a theory and it's a
long shot further than any galaxy far far away. What if George Lucasplans
to re release all six "Star Wars" movies. Wouldn't that be cool? Can
anyone imagine what it would be like to sit in a theatre for twelvehours
watching the magic that is "Star Wars"?

Ok. I'll put my blaster away, but Soul has to promese to put his too!
About that Black Widow movie of Mark Hamill, it was relese in 1993.
[Ok so the thing I heard about a new film starring Mark Hamill must
have been something that hasnt been released yet. Probably!!!]
I was doing some inventory about my Star Wars collection, and this is
what it came up to:
I have the original trilogy recorded in one VHS tape around 1985. I
could be exagerating, but I think I saw this tape for at least 100,000
times. During the first year I used to see it every day after school,
the whole trilogy. And i had seen A New Hope a lot of time before that
on a cousins house!
Ok, then I have the three LP Records, Star Wars and Empire were double
length, and Return was a desmoralizing single LP, and contain only afew
action cues.then I bought the Trilogy that was release in 1987 for the 10th
aniversary of Star Wars. This one was promoted with Digital Sound.
In the way, I bout the soundtracks in cassttes (which were really bad
done because the used to brake down to fast. I bout like 4 sets of them
from 1990 to 1995 because I played them so much that they couldn't hold
on to me).
Then in 1995 I bought the Anthology which is a 4 CD sets, including the
Three Movies and one CD of extra tracks. In this Anthology, John
Williams presented a couple of interesting original versions versus the
LP versions, including the Ewok celebration, which in the film was a
little lighter, that the one found in the Return of The Jedi LP Record,
and there was the Record version.
Then I bought Star Wars THX Edition. I saw this one about 1,000 times,
before the Special Edition came up in 1997.
OK. I saw the Trilogy Special Edition in the theaters about 5 times each!
And I bought the Special Edition videos, and since then I have seing
them about 500 times.
Finally I bought the Special Editon Soundtracks, at $36.99 each. This
one are the best of all, BUT IT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL RETURN OF
THE JEDI FINALE. ONLY THE NEW CHRISTMAS SPIRITED ONE.
Also I have ALL the Star Wars novels, including the Young Jedi Knight series.
I have the Scripts published in 1995, and I am saving to buy theSpecial
Edition Scripts.I think that's all!
[SLASH - Come on Raf, Did you really think you'd get away with that.

Ok. This is for the Guys who think a lot about young Princess Leia.
there is a Website, anounced in the Yahoo Search engine as:

My curiosity killed me so I got in. I didn't bookmark the site so I
can't remember the address, but they have this small video of Princess

blocks back(when it was holocron).
I cannot believe that some people do not want SW in a TV series after
2005. And even worse, for pride reasons. Believe me that if there isa
SW TV series, Lucas is gonna make sure it rocks! I want to see all of
you in 2005 begging for new SW stuff but, NOOOOOOO, you dindnt want aSW
TV series so you would have to survive with the pain and, I, will be laughing.
[Actually youve convinced me, soul. Like most of the members I didnt
think a TV series would be very good but as you said if Lucas had
anything to do with it he'd make sure it was good]
Well, people. The day draws nearer and nearer; and we freaks feel it
closer and closer. May 21, 1999 is the day of truth. A day that wil
become part of history. Im gonna buy those tickets like three days
before because its gonna be hell all over the place. Movies around the
21st: start worrying because SW is gonna, well, sorry for the language,
kick your butts. Hehe
Start counting the days because the day draws closer and we have to
receive it with super open arms.

From: mandalore77@hotmail.com
The idea of a Star Wars series is extremely a sink in pride. I
have not known one movie/T.V. tie-in to have lasted more than a couple
episodes. George Lucas takes so much time to perfect and polish theStar
Wars universe, and a series would be rushed and not so great. For
Example: Star Gate; the movie was alright with the cool computer
developed masks and props. But now they've pushed a series on Fox and
Showtime that really sucks. None of the original cast members are even
in it! And the special effects and script really suck. There were some
Star Gate novels made, which were better than the movie, and I thought
they'd be incorporated into the series, but they weren't. If they madea
tie-in to the Zahn novels, none of the original cast members would bein
it, and the complexity of the novel would bo ommited to fit a 1 hour
time slot. I am ashamed!
Also, I got a look at the whole outline of Episode 1 in an
American Magazine, something like Movie Outlook or Sci-Fi Outlook, and
Jabba the Hutt will be included. He is going to make a signifigantrole,
and is pictured standing next to the Queen in a celebration. Also afeud
beetween Obi-Wan and Qui-Gun appears. Also a tie-in from ANH, the
Queen's starship getting boarded by a massive black saucer of Darth
Mauls. I don't know if the magazine was lying but the screen shots and
script was convincing. The high price tag, $20, turned me away. Just
thought you'd like to know!

Block 1138 #54
Lets start with some script from the new film. I got this from a site
called Virtual Edition. The owner of the site had had this dialouge
posted to him and didnt know wether it was real or not (although he
seemed quite confidnet it was real), so like him we are going to have
to make up our own mind.
The following is from the first scene of the movie, in which Qui-Gon
and Obi-Wan are patiently waiting in the conference room in the
Nimoudian battleship! OBI-WAN: I have a bad feeling about this.
QUI-GON: I don't feel anything.
OBI-WAN: It's not about the mission, Master, it's something...
elsewhere... elusive...
QUI-GON: Don't center on your anxiety, Obi-Wan. Keep your concentration
here where it belongs.
OBI-WAN: Master Yoda says I should be mindful of the future...
QUI-GON: ... but not at the expense of the moment. Be mindful of the
living force, my young Padawan.
OBI-WAN: Yes, Master... How do you think this trade viceroy will deal
with the Chancellor's demands?
QUI-GON: These Federation types are cowards. The negotiations will beshort.
This is some dialouge between Yoda and Mace Windu about Darth Sidious
and Darth Maul:Yoda says, in reference to Darth Maul,
"Always two there are. No more, no less. Master and Apprentice."
Mace Windu replies, "But which was destroyed, the Master or the Apprentice?"
This next bit is after Darth Maul tries to kill Qui-Gon on Tatoonie.
There's a bit of
that in the preview when Qui-Gon yells to Anakin: "Anakin! Tell 'em to
take off!" Qui-Gon barely escapes Darth Maul and gets into the ship.
As the ship departs, Qui-Gon introduces Anakin to Obi-Wan (also in the
preview). On the planet surface, Maul contacts Sidious via hologram.
DARTH MAUL: They are heading to you, Master. Should I follow?
DARTH SIDIOUS: There is no need. Go to Naboo. I will contact you there.
Although this is a very brief exchange, it DOES tell us something very
interesting that might refuel the old discussion about the identity of
Darth Sidious (highlight to read):
Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Queen Amidala, together with the rest of the
group, are heading for Coruscant where they want to meet senator
Palpatine. This puts the simple line "They are heading to you, Master"
into an interesting perspective... IS Darth Sidious in reality the
friendly senator Palpatine? Is that why there is "no need" for Darth
maul to follow the group to Coruscant? Is Darth Sidous taking care of
the group himself as senator Palpatine? Or is this just an attempt to
make us think he is, and will we be surprised by the true identity of
Darth Sidious in Episode 2? An intriguing question to which only George
Lucas has the answer...
Once at the underwater city, Ottow Gunga, they are taken before Boss
Nass, who threatens to put Jar Jar to death for returning. Qui-Gon
tries to enlist the help of the Gungans to stop the army of battle
droids which are about to attack the Naboo above.
QUI-GON: You and the Naboo are a symbiont circle. What happens to one
of you will affect the other. You must understand this.
BOSS NASS: Wessa wish no nuten in yousa tings, outlander, and wessa no
caren bout da Naboo. Wessa only caren bout ussen!
Qui-Gon uses the Jedi mind trick to get Boss Nass to give them a
"bongo"!! Qui-Gon also convinces him to allow Jar Jar to go free with
them. At the close of the scene, after Boss Nass has agreed to give
them a "bongo," Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon share a quick and funny exchange as
they leave the room... OBI-WAN: Master, what's a bongo?
QUI-GON: A transport, I hope.
And lastly heres Darth Sidious doing some ordering:
DARTH SIDIOUS: This turn of events is unfortunate. We must accelerate
our plans, Viceroy. Begin landing your troops.
NUTE: Ahhh, My Lord, is that... legal? DARTH SIDIOUS: I will make it legal.
NUTE: And the... Jedi?
DARTH SIDIOUS: The Chancellor should never have brought them into this.
Kill them, immediately. Ok...me again. Now lets have some comic news....
Coming up from Dark Horse Comics are a set of Episode 1 comic
adaptations and tie-ins. These four full-color, 22-page one-shot
tie-ins to the film are:
Anakin (May 19) - writer Timothy Truman, pencils Steve Crespo, inks
George Freeman, cover Tim Bradstreet........"a special one-shot
featuring a day in the life of the most talked about and surprising
character from the upcoming Lucasfilm blockbuster!"
Obi-Wan (May 26) - writer Henry Gilroy, pencils Martin Egeland, inks
Howard Shum, cover Tim Bradstreet
Qui-Gon Jinn (June 2) - writer Jim Woodring, pencils Robert Teranishi,
inks Chris Chuckry, cover Tim Bradstreet
Young Queen (June 9) - writer Mark Schultz, pencils Galen Showman, inks
P. Craig Russell, cover Tim Bradstreet .......Schultz is contractually
quiet about details, but does reveal that the one-shot will take place
on Tatooine and that he will also be doing a "four-pager featuring the
Young Queen for publication in Wizard magazine."
Im back.....now for something from the Feb. 1999 issue of "Select"
magazine (a British music mag) under the TV section:
"To coincide with the summer release of Star Wars: Episode 1 The
Phantom Menace, the BBC are to screen a special 'Omnibus' programme.
Featuring exclusive film footage and 'unparalleled access' to the
stars, it will be the first glimpse of the film that's set to be bigger
than the Millenium itself". Ok thats it for now.....bye bye.Neil

"Ewoks" were the two Star Wars Cartoon series that ran in the 80s.While I
wouldn't mind another cartoon series (or 2), a live-action TV showWOULD suck.

I am the one who said about the series. . . By the way, how is it spell
right; kool, or cool? just trying to learn!
[Its cool.....but it seems to be cool to spell cool as kool with the
young uns of today]
My suggestion about a TV Series is after 2005, after the movies, telling
the stories found in the novels and comic books.
Star Wars was born in the vision point, and I think any Star Wars
Adventure should have an exposure in a visual way.
Maybe not a series, but it coul be a series of TV Movies, or Mini-Series!
For example, it would be a great thing for HBO, or Showtime to aspecial
release of this novels. For example, viewing Tomothy Zans novels. . . I
would love it! And so on! All this after 2005 of course, maybe starting
on 2010, or 2015. you get the pic.
And talking about Star Wars, is Mark Hamil still alive? Where is he?
What is he doing? i thing he showed up doring the Special Edition
Releases in 1997, but there isn't a word of him in Hollywood!
Las time I saw him in a movie was in "Black Widow something" one of
those NC-17 video movies, adult-oriented, but not X!
And I know too, that he did the Joker's voice in (sorry for naming him
again) Batman, the New Animated Series.
[He also does the vocie for the Hobgoblin in my personel gav cartoon
Spider-Man. Mark is definetly still alive and I read he was making a
film where he played a bad guy. I cant remember what it was called but
if this Black Widow thing is a reccent film then that may be the sameone]
but why did he died from the big screen! I have to tell that he will be
my eternal heroe, followed really close by Christopher Reeve (The real,
one and only Superman). Well, I hope we can see him in the Episode I realese.
On the other hand, i think that it makes him Luke Skywalker forever.
See ya next time!

Okay people, let's hope for things that never happen. One, that theStar
Wars trilogy never, ever gets remade because those movies are timeless
(except for the musical number in "Return Of The Jedi" which sucks in my
opinion) and two, Tim Burton was the best director of the "Batman"movies
and "Batman Forever" and especially "Batman And Robin" sucked! If afifth
"Batman" movie is made, let's hope to God that Tim Burton is the manbehind
the camera!
[Ok as much as I agree that Burtons Batman was far superior to crappy
sequels Im bringing out my force block on this. Any more mentions of
this will be sliced by my lightsabre]

 From: soul_lxiv@hotmail.com Hi everyone:
Mean! 2005 seems like the end of the world. Its like it all endsthere.
No more Star Wars to dream about or rumors to have hope for. Nothing.
THE END. E......N........D. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyway. Whats a Jar Jar?
[Jar Jar Binks is the name of a alien charecter in the prequels. I
leave it up to the rest of the members to fill you in further]
Too I would like to comment on something out of the topic.
rascuniverse, can you answer the block 1138's a little SHORTER!!!!!
[I dont think it matters. You can all make your posts as long or short
as you like]
Well, where was I? Oh yeah, the end of the world thing. I hope theydo
a TV series or something as rascuniverse said. You know, somethingthat
doesn't have to be read and can be watched.
We have to prepare for 2005. Bring some kleenex and some tranquilizer
pills because we are going to go crazy when the third episode ends. Its
gonna be madness. Though Im gonna see it at least 5 times, I will cry
everytime. What are we gonna do?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?Sorry. I got carried away.
Well, thats all.Bye,Soul

Its amaizing how the story changed from that first draft to the final draft.
It was wise for Master George to publish the novel before the movie,
because that way he made an official story that couldn't be changed...
even thou from the novel to the film there are some tiny and small
variations, but it doesn't affect anything. This is it for today.P.S.
Q. What's the similarity between a Stormtrooper, and an AT AT?
A. A Stormtrooper is a Walking Imperial, and the AT AT is an Imperial Walker!
(From The Young Jedi Knight series, a joke by: Jacen Solo - blame himif
it wasn't funny!)
