Guestbooks

Guestbooks are a nice thing to have, I'm always thrilled when someone signs my guestbook! I don't mind when people leave their banners, as I do the same, but what bugs me is people that leave only their banner. Guestbooks are a good form of advertisement, and they work too! (Or at least, I found they did.) I always try to leave a comment with my banner that's personal with that page. I've seen people who just paste the same message in everyone's guestbook, and that bugs me. What's so personal about that message? I'd rather have a short message actually referring to my page then a long message that is the exact same as in everyone else's guestbook. Oh, and when I say "personal" for the page, I don't mean "Nice page, come visit mine! Don't forget to sign my guestbook! My page is really great and I worked really hard on it!" I mean something along the lines of "My fav. section of your page was[insert section here] it was neat!" At least then I know the person actually looked at my page. Then put "Please come visit my page sometime!". I don't mind that at all, you took the time to actually look at my page, so I'll take the time to look at yours and sign your guestbook if you have one! And to be truthful, I like going to look at new pages I never saw before and I don't mind them using my guestbook to advertise as long as they say something else. I also like looking at people's banners, a lot of people use different programs then me to make their banners so I like seeing what different effects they can do. So in summarie, don't abuse guestbooks. Leave a message, then advertise your page. Don't just paste your banner into everyone's guestbook and that's it, people catch on. Sorry this was short, that's just what I felt like writing about at the moment!
